  1. On the subject of the original question, the current most popular theory about why the sky appears black, despite the more or less infinite stars believed to be up there, is that they're so far away from us that the light hasnt had time to get here yet!
  2. Looks pretty good to me! Its got a great spec for the price in my opinion, even with a slightly longer stem than i'd have which would probbaly help a tall rider like you to start off..... I agree with you on the seat front its nice to have somewhere to sit down during rides! A giant is going to seem a lot more like the old mtbs that you rode than a more recent trials bike would, so it would probably make for a great transition into trials. I dont have any trouble with its shortness really, i used to ride a long mod, and find that i cant sidehop quite as high or static gap quite as far, but absolutely everything else feels nicer and more fun to do. Theres some videos of me and Tommy D riding on here, if you want to see a tall rider (me) on one.... Infact heres one......
  3. As with a lot of things, it kinda depends on what style of riding you want to get into. I'm a big fan of bunnyhops and spinning and manuals and streety things like that and i find the giant great for it. I suspect its shortness probably limits my ability to do big static gaps a bit but i prefer to do them rolling whenever possible anyway, so its not a problem for me. If you want to get into streety styles of riding it would be awesome If you fancy yourself as the next Neil Tunnicliffe then its probably not for you
  4. I absolutely love my Giant its the best frame ive ever owned! Tommy D got the geo pretty much right, its fairly short as trials bikes go, with quite long chainstays and a bottom bracket drop. That said, i'm over 6 foot tall and have no trouble at all. I find it very good for quite streety smooth riding. Heres a couple of piccys of mine
  5. AS long its not actually completely pouring i'll be there
  6. I'm loving the amount of replies so far! i presume the usual 11 at spar is a good meeting point and time?
  7. To be honest i'm happy for either, but sotons closer hehe, and i havent ridden here properly for agggges!
  8. Glad to see you've seen the light! Good man
  9. As topic says really, anyone up for it?
  10. But, but , but......you had a pashley! It looks good and all but i cannot imagine why you would get rid of a pashley.....

    Onza T-rex.

Dont worry about extra weight, you'll get stronger soon enough!
  12. It really looks to me like the seller has just welded some metal together to try and pretend its a frame!
  13. Having a short wheelbase makes the bike easier to pull up and bunnyhop and manual etc....Having a long wheelbase is good for taps, gaps, and sidehops etc. The Having long chainstays also makes taps gaps etc easier, and short ones will make the bike really flicky and easy to spin I'm not too sure about head angle, but a shallow one will make the bike shorter than it really is, and a steep one makes it feel longer.... I don't think bottom bracket or headtube sizes affect the way the bike feels, they just depend on the design of your frame really
  14. I'm still riding on friday if you want alex....I think i've persuaded the other james to come too
  15. I'll try to come out for a few hours in the afternoon
  16. Your make powering over those gaps look so easy! I wish i could do it that easily hehe! Good work
  17. I think this is a bit silly, you've put your video on a Trials forum and then gotten really tetchy when people asked for there to be trials in it! As i've already said i liked this video, but you shouldn't get so wound up about the replys considering what forum you've posted this on....
  18. (Speaking to the rider here) I have to say i enjoyed this video quite a lot! It was a lovely change seeing someone doing all that on a mod! If it were me i think i'd try and do a wee bit more trials related stuff, but good work! P.S. If you manage to incorporate all that awesome bmx stuff with some huge traditional trials tricks, you will absolutely amazing! I can't wait to see the lines you come up with if you do!
  19. Afraid that video wasn't my sort of thing, i found there wasn't enough variety to keep me interested in it, like i could predict every move you would do before you did it..... Also i felt the minute long intro was a bit too drawn out, i wanted the action sooner! (Could just be me being impatient...) That said the riding you did do was pretty impressive
  20. I use 661 4x4 knee and shin pads nowadays since i put one to many holes in my legs too! I've no complaints with them at all, they've saved my shins dozens of times already, well worth it!
  21. Maybe white rims? Pink would be good too though!
  22. That look's pretty sweet Jay, should be riding with you over christmas so i'll hopefully see it in the flesh soon!
