Depends what you mean by cheap-ish! I'm selling one of these: http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/p...ts_id/2910.html Which is only like 2 weeks old. Call it £50? As for comps, you get what you pay for. Just depends on what you want to spend. Also, you're as better off getting decent speakers as you are ensuring they're securely mounted and sealing & deadening the doors they're to be mounted in!
  2. Cool pics. That ^ ride is sooo much fun, if you're there, DEFFO spend the £4 and go on it, is amazing!

What car is it? And what sized speakers are stock in the front? Your money & time is *much* better spent getting some decent component speakers in the front, amping them, and a small sub in the back. Putting any speakers in the back just makes it sound totally gash really. Give me a shout if you want any more advice.
  4. Yeah, I did mine recently, as has been said - it can be done, but I wouldn't bother. You need a lot of different sized spokes, and it's just a right pain. Unless you can't get the hub/rim combo to match (as was the case with me), don't bother.
  5. Mine lasted 7 days before the spokes pulled through. Bike looks good mayte.

As others have said, sony car audio really isn't that great. They call it Xplop for a reason! It took me ages to figure out what head unit I wanted, but in the end decided on a Pioneer DEH-P77MP. You should be able to find one easily enough used for £100, the price I paid for mine. It's a couple of years old, but has a massive amount of features: Impeccable sound quality, regarded as one of the best sounding HU's. IP-Bus, which means you can attach aux in/bluetooth/ipod (being able to control the ipod too)/usb/harddrive/cd changer. Steering wheel control ready. Remote control ready MP3/WMA CDR+CDRW compatable. 6 pre-outs (2 sub, 2 front, 2 back). Great Styling, aluminium front fascia. I'd go for that!
  7. Did anyone actually go? Me & Burrows went, but didn't catch up with anyone else. Ah well, still had a good ride till the rim broke!
  8. Update: Had it for 7 days, and two of the spokes have pulled through the rim. Avoid like the plague.
  9. to be honest, it'd probably start leaking from several places long before the cylinders snap...
  10. Just got in, had a bloomin' beasty ride!
  11. Will anyone be out? Don't have a clue where any of the decent spots are, apart from all down the high street(?)
  12. Hey Fellas. Me & Max-t are planning on coming down tomorrow, anyone fancy it? Weather should be suuuuunny. Mike.
  13. Very old, but still one of my all time favourite videos!
  14. I'm now running one on the rear. Was a bit of a mission to build it up 32h on a 36h profile hub! It seems good so far, felt really stiff, has a nice, deep profile, and is made of pretty thick metal. 560g too. It didn't grind amazingly, but I was using a pretty worn disk. Brake's working mint anyways due to awesome phat pads. Will post more once I've given the rim more of a beating.
  15. ... Either way, will be getting better, & close-up pics early next week, so keep your eyes peeled on the site. Had a look at the frames today, and they don't look that bad!
  16. Good episode this week. So when's the next one then!?
  17. Yeah, as always a massive thanks to Barbara, the observers and of course everyone else who helped with the trial. Well done for the smiley faces all round, especially given the weather! I always love comps at Addingham in the wet, yesterday was no exception - had a cracking time! Sections were spot on, and at least most people seemed to be enjoying themselves. Was amazed at how my brake just kept working through the rain mud and grit, wouldn't give up - Phat pads working very nicely there! Looking forward to next year. Mike.
  18. The Maxxis High Roller 2.35" UST tyres are the best tyres ever for trials, tubed or tubeless. Less than 900g, yet still decent sidewalls. I ran tubeless F+R a while back, in the rear, experiences were as have been mentioned, a sharp edge, and it burps air & latex. In the front however, on a narrowish rim it was mint. Very rarely burped. I do intend on running it in the front again when I can be bothered. And yeah search, there're a couple of useful topics around.
  19. Me, the missus, Matt Burrows and Max-T will all be there. Bring your waterproofs!
  20. Shouldn't have fallen off then, simple as. I was trying, but you didn't actually make the move. How can I take a photo of a move you don't even do?
