  1. Give it a go - you don't know till you try it! Probably just a little harder than a normal club comp. Rules are on www.biketrialuk.co.uk Entry fee to British Champ rounds this year is £13.00 and entry forms will be automatically sent to all British BIU licence holders. :S
  2. Ok, so they're held in England, but riders do come from Scotland and Wales, so they are British! :o" If you find us a venue in Scotland, and permission to use the land, then I'm sure NBTC will come along and run one for you! :D
  3. It's the people attending that make an event enjoyable and create the atmosphere, not whether it's BIU or UCI. There are no UCI comps in the UK, whether that's good or bad is not the question, if you think our comps are badly organised Austin - then don't ride them and arrange some UCI ones yourself instead of critisizing. Wayne has made a very good topic here about comps in general - don't try to spoil it with controversy! Barbara
  4. Wayne asked about insurance / ACU Your £10 a year ACU licence fee, plus what the club pays them 'per rider per event' out of your entry fee, covers the organisers if a rider were to make a claim against them for negligence. So, for example, if you had an accident which resulted in serious injury, and you believed that it was the organiser's fault, perhaps because of something in the section, then you could claim for, say, the time you had to take off work, or for a personal tutor because you had to miss important schooling, or in the worst possible scenario your family could claim if you were killed. I think I'm right in saying the cover is for up to £30 million? (Couldn't swear on that, would need to check.) Well worth it in my opinion! (N) If trials were run through British Cycling insurance rather than through ACU you'd be looking at between £30 to £60 each per year. (Y)
  5. Both the club membership year and the ACU year runs January to December, you can join anytime.
  6. Glad we managed to sort out most of the parking problem without everyone having to pay! (Y) Anyway, results now on-line on www.biketrialuk.co.uk Well done everyone, hope you enjoyed it!
  7. Here you go ... sorry I wasn't sat a bit closer! Friday's Ashton backflip (Y)
  8. Come on ... get your money out!!! Another full build bike has just been donated to this raffle - an Ashton Justice 20". Friday was quite quiet, and I sold only £65 of raffle tickets. If you're there on Sunday make sure you buy your tickets on stand M110 or from Phil who's also selling them for us on the Select Bikes stand. The more tickets you have the more chance of winning! :-
  9. No, we've asked. It's to do with the council, planning permission, and using it only so many days a week. You'd find the gate locked so couldn't get onto the car park, and you mustn't park on the road or they'll get complaints from the quarry next door! People/locals are trying to get Back Cowm closed down, so please don't jepordise it by riding at other times, or parking on the road, or any other reason for complaint.
  10. Not allowed ... Saturday and Sunday riding only! (Y)
  11. Cleanbikes will be at the show ... but working on the "BikeTrial UK" stand, not selling products unfortunately! (Y)

  13. We do have some shorter lengths left - how much do you need? :( Alternatively, we have some new stuff available in red - "stainless steel braided teflon hose" - just not had time to take pics and advertise it yet! Email us and we'll try to sort you out. :S
  14. Yes - black hose in stock - £7.99 for 3 metres. :ermm:
  15. You don't say if your's were riser bars or flat bars? We have a pair of second-hand Monty 221/231 flat bars (silver) for sale if they're any good? £15? Send a pm if you're interested.
  16. This will be the one that's in your bike - in stock, can be bought here
  17. Trialsin / BikeTrial started here! - about ½ way down.
  18. Ok, as a guideline, we've been told ... If a pair of the traditional Brown pads lasted you a year, then ... Red would last you 9 months, and, as a wet-weather pad would be ½ way between Brown and Yellow. Yellow would last you 6 months, but are a much better wet-weather pad. As for Blue and Green - they look the same compound as the Brown, but as they only arrived in the UK last week, no-one here's had them long enough to be able to give feedback!
  19. Thanks for that, will let Terry know. Any other clashes?
  20. Frame would seem to be different, more like the new Alp? Different geometry? Looks like it could take a seatpost? Not a lot of information on it yet, not even on the Monty website! Will tell you more when it arrives!
  21. Hasn't actually arrived yet, so can only go on info provided by Monty ... Frame: 7005 Alu T6 Shock absorbing frame Forks: 6061 Alu Head set: 1/18 A Hubs: Alu Cranks: Alu 158mm Front freewheel 18T Front brake: HS33 or Louise Rear brake: HS33 Wheels: 20" front, 19" rear Bash: Monty bash, 6082 T6 Alu, saw shaped
  22. Check the specs out ... mostly different parts (not to mention titanium spokes, bolts etc).
  23. The new Monty 221 PRO will be in the UK in time for Christmas. We're taking orders now, and at £673.76 for the rim brake model, or £714.14 for the disc brake model they're not badly priced. The new 2005 aluminium framed Alp is also up for Christmas orders at £350.43, and the 2005 Alp Magura at £492.25. With all the new 2005 models coming in, there's some 2004 stock to clear - have a look at the monty bikes on www.cleanbikes.co.uk to see the bargains!
  24. Another £30 received today at TykeTrial and another £3 on-line. Cheers! :-
  25. Yes, sorry about that, Carol had got fed-up of tripping over her dress and taken it off (!!!) by the time I thought to get a picture taken for on here. Please put it up if anyone does have one. If not ... watch out for December's MBUK ... it could just be in there.
