  1. A 26" wheel will fit if you run brakeless or with discs, as long as you don't go too big on the tyre. A 2.5 will run but will need to be at least half way down the dropout slot.
  2. Sounds a candidate for the new Sting. Similar spec to Rip but shorter frame, Shorter stem and narrower bars. Very limited stock should be in just Pre- Christmas. I would also confirm Adams comments. !9" rims and tyres are considerably more expensive than 20". We are having an extraordinarily difficult job at the moment doing the specs for 2011. No major changes but prices in the far east are rocketing (Maxxis are up 25%) It is critical for us to have a competitive starter bike and we constantly strive to keep the price low but it gets more and more difficult.
  3. I hasten to add that this was one of a small number of Mail Order Return, Damage in Transit and Demo cycles sold through Ebay, before anybody tries to buy one at that price on Rock'n'Roll Bikes.
  4. Comp, Blade and Zoot frames are due to dock this week. Should be available to buy in a week to 10 days.
  5. These are all custom builds at the moment so you can elect to leave the fork at full length.
  6. This was our first build and we used the forks at the length they are manufactured with several stackers. The reason for that was, that we wanted to experiment with different heights of handlebar. Normal standard builds will come with forks cut to correct length and one 10mm stacker.
  7. The brakes are now available as per pictures. Rims, Hubs and complete wheels and H/bar stems & pedals also available. The rims are brand new specific Zoot 24" as are the hubs. ie, sealed rear single speed 135mm disc hub and front sealed disc hub, both anodized purple. Rims are white double skin rear drilled and single skin front with rectangle pierced holes. Width, rear is 38mm and 672 grams, front is 31.5 mm and 482 grams.
  8. We've got the new Zoot Pro rims in stock now.
  9. I just had it straight from the horses mouth. The new HS11 and HS33 are in stock as of the Eurobike Show (end of August) and will replace the current models. They expect to have minimal residual stock of existing model at that stage and are adamant that the existing model is finished. There are no plans whatsoever for a special trials version. Any further orders of our 2010 models yet to be manufactured, which have Maguras, and any new 2011 models, will carry the new brakes. It is my opinion that HS11 will become by far the most popular as the only difference is in finish even though there is still a big price difference..
  10. The t-Master was launched in July 1999 but had been on the drawing board since the previous summer.
  11. The Onza Master frame was the first truely low slung frame designed without any consideration for a seat. It also had high BB. It was designed by us in 1998 and introduced on the Master in 1999 closely followed by the Mag in 2000, using the same frame. When we designed it there were only 2 other trials bike makers in the world, Monty and Megamo. They both produced seatless frames, but still with a diamond frame look about them. GT had dabbled, influenced by Hans Rey but had ceased production by then Brisa and Echo followed in about 2000 and I don't think Koxx arrived until about 2002. The only reason we didn't continue with that frame was due to material issues with the frame maker.
  12. The reason we went for back fitting mounts on the new Zoot Pro fork is that we wanted to produce only one fork rather a separate disk fork and Magura fork. When you use a disc brake the set up looks a lot neater if your redundant Magura mounts are on the back.
  13. Okay, sorry, I didn't realise. Two or three years ago we gave worldwide distribution of all our Unicycle stuff to Unicycle.com so we have never stocked it since. I suspect that it has since been a little neglected as we have not had time to put in any further development work, but that may change soon. In the meantime, they are the only source for Tensile 140 cranks as we never even saw them until they appeared on their website.
  14. We actually never made Tensiles in 140 for bikes. They were only made for our Trials Unicycle and so were effectively two left hand cranks. Sorry.
  15. Here are first pictures of the Zoot Pro kit. RRP is I think about £359 but I am not 100% as I don't set these things any more. Some details Frame weighs about 1.715 Kilos and Fork is 940 grams Frame has CNC rear dropouts with disc mount and also Magura mounts. Fork has Disc mounts and Magura mounts on the rear. Frame Geometry is 1035 wheelbase, +35 BB, 380 chainstay and 73 Head Angle. Fork is 410 axle to crown race with a 35 mm offset. It all comes in a presentation window fronted box. Available from about 16th July. ] More Pictures
  16. You might want to check out the new Zoot Pro. Sold as Frame Kit only at the moment with FULL U6 frame with CNC dropouts and Magura/ Disc mounts, brand new Zoot Pro fork, matching pivotal saddle and brand new Zoot Pro sealed headset.. Limited number arriving in 2 to 3 weeks and some more due end of July. More details and pictures tomorrow.
  17. As for the toothed belts, been there done that . See the picture, took about 20 seconds with an average trials rider. Might work with some bikes but not trials.
  18. How about a handlebar stem and fork steerer with a machined keyway in both. You insert a key to centralise it with the wheel every time. However if like Mark you don't fancy the prospect of fixing your alignment, you just leave out the key.
  19. I think the problem is that in the days of Cromo, 531 etc. steel tubing, you would buy a set of tubing from the maker and he would supply a standard universal sticker which all frame builders then put on the frame along with other decals. These days of fabricated aluminium alloy frames, the frame builder just orders lengths of tubing and cuts to whatever he wants and welds it all together. Its only certain alloy tube sets like Columbus who market a specific set and issue a sticker with that set, and their tubing sets are usually not suitable for Trials frames. It therefore becomes the responsibility of the Bicycle company who markets the frame to produce a decal to indicate the tubing, and that has never before been a major priority for us. However with the new range we have started very graphically putting that information on the frame. In the same way, we now put on the frame geometry, because we have deemed it important information to convey to the buyer. From now on we plan to include in every decal set for every frame, a sticker indicating the material used and a sticker showing basic geometry. The solid pieces like CNC pieces have to be a compatible alloy but will not be U6. There would be no real point as U6 is used on tubing, which gives it a 25 / 35% increase in strength. They can subsequently reduce the thickness considerably whilst maintaining the same strength.so the tube is lighter. If you machine, for instance a specific shaped rear dropout it would weigh exactly the same, in U6 or 6061 or 7005. You therefore use the cheapest compatible alloy.
  20. Not true. We only started putting stickers on frames fairly recently to inform the type of Aluminium alloy, not because we were shamed into it but because people wanted to know. As a general rule of thumb most frames made in Taiwan have 7005 tubing in various heat treatment and butted forms. Most frames made in China are 6061 tubing. This is because those two countries in turn manufacture that tubing and supply is easier. U6 is a form of 6061 tubing and is made in China. Our first U6 T-Pro frame was made in China by Pulo. Alex Dark is correct in his assertion about U6 tubes. That T-Pro in common with most such frames was U6 2 main tubes.and the remainder was 6061. This is true of the similar frames of other manufacturers at the time. Because of welding techniques U6 can be used only with 6061, not 7005. So a U6 frame will usually have tubes of 6061 as well. If you look at our new range of 20" the first 3 models have 7005 frames and the top two have U6 and 6061. This does contradict my first assertion, because all of these frames are made in Taiwan. We do have to import the 6061 and U6 tubing from China to Taiwan, though. We are experimenting with 100% U6 frames at the moment and can get some very light weights with this combination but it is expensive to do it. In answer to the first questioner, I'm pretty sure that the Skull is U6 butted main tubes and 6061 other tubes. The weight is a bit of a giveaway. I will double check tomorrow and confirm.
  21. Tensile off set mounts were designed so that you can reverse them and get maximum side to side movement. The offset was optimised to get full overlap. The only problem is you cannot get as much movement when the offset is inwards because the body of the brake butts up against the mount, before it has moved all the way in..
  22. Woah there. Before everybody starts digging up any old frame and sending it off to us, this is the actual "Onza Half price replacement policy" which operates on the sale of new Onza products.. Onza Bicycles operates a half price replacement policy on all its products but this does not include complete bicycles. It operates for two years from the date of the original purchase and is entirely discretionary with the management of Onza bicycles. It has no legal basis and does not form part of the original contract of sale. Onza Bicycles will replace for half the suggested retail price at their discretion any Onza branded frame, fork or other component damaged in any way within that two year period. This policy does not replace any other warranty stated or implied and does not affect any other statutory rights under UK law. The policy is operated under certain rules and exclusions as follows. 1. It only applies to the original purchaser of the new product and cannot be passed on or sold to a second user of the item. 2. The policy and payment is operated directly with Onza bicycles and does not involve its agents, distributors, retailers or internet sales operators. 3. Onza bicycles insist that all items replaced under the policy must be returned to them prior to replacement. 4. The customer must accept responsibility for carriage charges both ways for the returned item and its replacement. 5. The policy is operated strictly on the basis of suggested retail prices and will not apply to any lower prices achieved by the customer when purchasing at a discount or via a clearance deal on an internet auction site or by any other method. 6. In the case of frames it may be only necessary to return the bottom bracket sawn from the frame, to display the frame number. 7. Original proof of purchase must be supplied with the item. 8. It is possible to upgrade to an item of a higher price but you will only be allowed to transfer a reduction in the price of the upgraded item equal to the amount of the original half price reduction. 9. If you exchange to a lower priced item, you will be charged at least the original items half price replacement cost.
  23. Another hot off the press picture. The prototype 24" Ice frame. Here on Tuesday. Subject to change of course as it is the first stab. Requires some extensive riding.
