  1. Reynolds 853 steel tubing. Reynolds 631 steel tubing. S6 6066 aluminium alloy Don't know if thats any good to you Dan.
  2. I think with stuff like this you do have to speculate to accumulate, you never know they could make something out of it but i can see where your coming from Personally i don't like the website at all, looks a bit tacky and unprofessional like it was made in geocities or something. I do think the clothing itself looks alright though and you have some good designs, but you need to sort that website out, and get some vids out promoting the clothing more. Anyway thats my opinion, good luck with the company Dan.

    Spokes

Spoke lengths are 267/265 I beleive, as for spokes to use Sapim race spokes and most DT swiss spokes are really good, however it may not be your spokes what are causing the problem with your wheel, you need to get your wheel built properly as well Dan.
  4. I have seen a few topics of people getting stuck with setting up Avid disc brakes so thaught i would post a guide step 1. Firstly you need to attach the rotor of the disc onto the hub, this is done by the 6 bolts supplied with the brake (bolts should be done up no tighter then hand tight) then place the wheel into fork/frame tightly. Apply brake lever to handlebar and tighten hand tight with allen key. step 2 You need to fix and align the caliper: . If your caliper is attached to a bracket, check that the bracket is fully secured to the frame or fork. . loosen the caliper-mounting bolts so the caliper is loose on the bracket. Caliper adjustment is made at the caliper to bracket interface, not at the bracket to frame/fork interface. . Loosen brake wire pinch bolt if it is secured, then check that both pad adjusting dials are turned fully counter-clockwise to move pads fully away from rotor. . Turn the inner pad adjusting knob clockwise approximately 1 turn. Then turn the outer pad adjusting dial clockwise until the pad fully secures rotor. This aligns pads and caliper body to rotor. . Snug each caliper mounting bolt. Then alternatively tighten first one bolt, and then the other until both are fully secure.Draw slack from the brake wire and secure pinch bolt. Do not allow caliper arm to move upward when drawing slack from brake. . Set the pad clearance. The Inner pad (fixed pad) should have twice the gap to the rotor as the outer pad (moving pad). Loosen fixed (inner) pad by adjusting the dial 2-3 clicks counter-clockwise. Then Loosen the moving pad by adjusting the dial 4-6 clicks counter-clockwise. Finally, squeeze the brake lever to test the caliper brake. Adjust the lever modulation setting by moving the pads inward or outward from the rotor by using both pad adjusting knobs. To maintain the 2:1 ratio, turn the fixed pad by adjusting the dial twice as many clicks as the moving pad adjusting dial. Changing brake pads . remove the wheel from forks/frame . Loosen each pad adjustment knob/dial an equal amount, then grab the lever at the end of the pad and push toward center of caliper body, pulling the pad outward and away from the caliper. Repeat this process for the second pad. . Push the lever to the center of the caliper body and lift to remove. remember the orientation of the pad return spring and remove spring from pads. . Place the new pads over the pad return spring. The spring should be sandwiched between the new pads. Installation lever is set asymmetrically on the pad. . Then align the bridge of the spring with the caliper boss locators. Gently squeeze the return spring and pads. Engage the pads into the caliper body. The pad installation lever orients away from the brace bolts. Push the return-spring and pads into place. The pad locator will engage bosses in the caliper boss. Finally push the pads into the calliper body. Then put the wheel back onto the fork/frame Hope this is some sort of help to people Dan.
  5. It is possible you could be trying to import a .WMV video file which will only run through Windows programs, if that is the case you need to convert them to a .mpeg file. If that is the case go Here and download that and you can convert the files using that. Hope that helps Dan.
  6. Chainspotting! that was an awesome video in its day. With Martyn Ashton doing that 360 and his wheel folding in half Chainspotting, Revolution and a really old Hans Rey video where he is riding up waterfalls got me into trials.
  7. Nice pics Pauly/ Neil...... You need to pull your trousers up more though mate Dan.
  8. You can use a Camcorder ! Nice vid Neil, good to see the vid showing more of a fun atmosphere as for the riding, was off the scales and the music was ok... makes you a bit drowzy as I had to watch the video a couple of times because of some of the moves being pulled off! anyway good work p.s. Trinder's laugh at the end
  9. I used to ride with Ben, Jon and Mike from trialsworks quite a bit when I lived in the area, I know alot of them just had no time to ride due to other commitments. Ben Is riding still spoke to him other day on msn so maybe their could be a trialsworks site of somesort in the future, although he is very commited to engageclothin and that is his main focus. But i agree with others who have posted, the original trialsworks site/forum rocked, the vids were great and Jon (mod rider) always had a beastly crash in pretty much every vid Cheers, Dan
  10. Nice layout, navigation and just the basic simplicity of it , however I think the old site made ZOO! as a company look more professional. Cheers, Dan.
  11. This should be in the sites, vids, pics forum really... Not the best description to the vid but i think it might be zoo 19 where he is doing big drops off wat looks to be a run down castle..
  12. A well maintained/ looked after king should never skip, or if it does it is rare. Just make sure you take the hub apart every 2-4 months and give the freehub splines a good clean with a toothbrush and put some cross country chain lube or something similar in the splines and it should be fine. Cheers, Dan
  13. Use Adobe premiere 6.5 or newer version as that is the best program to use full stop for editing videos and it will support quicktime files. WMV files im not sure if that is compatable with adobe (It is with Windows movie maker as its a windows codec) but can be easily converted to mpeg files using tmpeg which will definatly work with adobe. If your capturing using a firewire cable (ieee 1394) you may be able to capture straight into adobe premiere if it will pick your camcorder up (I have only found that it will pick sony camcorders up though) but may be worth a try You can get Adobe premiere from kazaa or any other filesharing program, it is quite a daunting and complicated program at first but after a while its fairly straight forward Hopefully this is of some help, Dan.
  14. Getting a Chris King hub will not suddenly make u gap furthur, they will just make your control better due to your bike feeling more responsive, which may help to gap bigger and make your riding more consistant but the diference won´t be a great deal. But they are a very good hub and worth while getting IF you have the money to do so (Y) Cheers, Dan.
  15. You say you hate magazines such as MBUK because they review bikes that are too expensive. Magazines such as MBUK are aimed mainly at bike riding enthusiasts, who are going to read the reviews because they want to know about all the latest and greatest kit on the market, the magazine isn´t benefitting if that bike then had 130 sales for example, they are simply reviewing a product, which people may go on to buy or find more information about it makes no difference to the magazine, they have done their purpose of informing readers of the new bikes on the market and what they think of them. So to say you hate the magazine is a bit of a strong statement i think as you would be surprised how many of the bikes they review do sell. Cheers, Dan.
  16. To true a wheel using a truing stand do the following: Remove the tire and tube from your wheel, afterwards place your wheel into your truing stand (making sure the right side of the wheel is on the right side of the stand) Then bring the callipers on the truing stand to rim level and set them up close to your rim, when you spin your wheel it will scrape on the calliper (if it scrapes very heavily obviously move the callipers away so it only scrapes lightly) doing this you will easily locate where your will is buckled/not true. If the rim is scraping on the left side of the calliper for example, where the rim is scraping tighten the spokes to right side of the hub flange (only tightening 1/2 turn) Spin the wheel again and it should spin without scraping on the callipers, if it still does repeat tightening the opposite side spokes half a turn. Eventully you will get it so it does not scrape on the callipers. After you have done this move the callipers in closer and then tighten the spokes accordingly, repeat this until your wheel is true. Hope this helps, Dan.
  17. Fatmike did it with a Mavic 717 and 719 and originally bolted it together with 8 3 or 4mm bolts, however this didn´t work too well as the rims tried to pull apart from each other under the stress of riding. Therefore he used another 8 bolts, so a total of 16 bolts and it seems to work fine at the moment. It is fairly straight forward to do, but does take a while. It is something different though and you do get the main benefit of amazing brakes due to a decent grind because of the material being alot harder then echo/koxx/onza rims etc. However it is heavy, but I think Mike plans on going tubeless to save weight as he has to use a DH tube to avoid getting flats easily. Hope this helps, Dan.
  18. Onza Hognesium pedals; super light, feel solid and very good grip. You can get them at Tartybikes for £43 including postage :) Cheers, Dan.
  19. I would say go for the echo team personally, because they are great frames and because if it doest break, you will find you will probably be able to sort something out with Select Bikes or Tartybikes , as opposed to Koxx who in my experience have been very poor because if the frame is more then 3 months old they don´t want to know. Don´t get me wrong though, Koxx levelboss´s are nice frames, its just Koxx don´t offer a decent enough warranty. Cheers, Dan
  20. I ran a 521 in a 04 Pitbull and it worked fine without any pad bodges, and it was with worn Koxx bloxx, the only thing was the lever did pull in pretty much to the handlebar, but it didn´t effect the performance of the brake, and a mavic rim is much better then any of the wider ´cheese´rims out there for grinds as the material is better. Cheers, Dan.
