Tar has the opposite effect in the rain, meaning it goes shit and acts like oil, so dont put tar on in the rain. It is good for when the sun it out but not for rain.

Zoo are shit in the rain its like having no break, go for a harsh grind and koxx bloxx greens they are made for more wet weather riding.

Theres nothing wrong with having a dick upfront when starting or whenever, back is abit dodgey but front disk if fine and my vote goes for the zoo better spec.

You need a crank puller tool to get the crank arm off, your LBS will have one if you don't. Stick the chain ring in a vice and try straighten it out and see how long it lasts.
