Cheers lads the problem is now sort of sorted. We reinstalled Windows etc from scratch as per advice from PC World and it seems to have worked, only problem is we lost everything that was saved. We are just starting to put the other software back on the pc and we will see which peice of software caused the problem Cheers again Frooty

best thing is get an old wheel, look at the spokes and the way they are setup (this is fairly simple to get the hang of) take the wheel apart and try rebuild it, would be worth having another wheel handy to relate to. Its simple to lace them up when you know how (if it is a basic 3 cross pattern) but explaining it aint the easiest thing. Like someone said further up, get a manuel and follow it step by step, after a couple of gos you will be able to do it no worries, then you gorra master the art of trueing and getting rid of eggs, thats the pain in the a55 part Frooty

Your turning down these offers and it will cost around 15 ish quid for a bike shop to do it If you aint done it before (which you aint cos your askin on TF) then it is advisable not to do it yourself Frooty

Yeah the laptop has been plugged in at the wall to make sure its fully charged and still getting power from the mains, Worst thing is its a fair new laptop and not a cheap thing with next to no power or memory so it is quite suprising yeah Tomm. you reckon this powered USB hub thing wont do much then? Im not fully sure which one it is but its a Samsung one, only 1gig memory poss 2 gig tops As for the mains and USB question im pretty sure its powered through usb, as in its charged that way and doesnt have a seperate power supply

what does the USB hub do then and how does this increase the power sent from the laptop? Just wanna make sure before spending more cash Frooty

Right here goes The girlfriend recently bought a new Samsung MP3 player. When getting it home the laptop would not pick up the hardware. The MP3 player hs been tried on a normal pc and it picks it up fine but it aint got XP so cant use it fully. We tried to take it back as it wasnt working on the laptop, they tried it on their in house pc and say it was a full working model and they cant accept a return on a working item, (tw@s) We rung Fu Jitsu, the laptop company, and they have said after a few questions it looks like the laptop isn't sending enough power to the USB port to power the MP3 player Right, i have been told that this can be sorted with something called a powered USB hub? Is this right or is there any other way it can be sorted, if at all it can be sorted? All help greatly appreciated Frooty

Depends what you cal 'reasonable' prices? If your just getting back into it you might be worth looking at a 20inch onza or summat like that, half decent quality for the cash and it means you can adapt the bike to suit your riding ability Frooty

Put your tube in straight before you pump it up and it should be fine. Normally its cos the valve is being fed through the rim at the wrong angle. Never had a problem with mine! frooty
