  8. Hi there mate, There are plenty of riders in Taunton now (roughly 7 now). Alot of us only started trials/moved here last year so i can understand how you didn't notice us (Y) . If your're up for a ride sometime around the christmas holidays, just drop me or Rich (karsonlevoret) a PM or put a post up here if you want. (Y) Cheers, Alex
  9. Again, I agree with the others on this one. You'd suit a short control very well, but i would save that extra £30 and go for the 05 version as it looks the business and has an intergrated booster which is a nice extra. :) However, if you would like to save some money, a T-rex would be fine, personally i don't think you are too small for it. After riding Ross' Toxin for a couple of days i found that extra length did not hinder me much at all, in fact the opposite. Anyway, the Control forks i believe are 415mm in length. They would work nicely with both frames i think. As for BBs, I use an FSA one, available from Tartybikes (Although i'm not sure they have them in currently). Its under £30 and still going strong. :P Cheers, Alex
  10. Hey Rich. I vote for Man on a Missions post, it made me chuckle. Its great to see so many people appreciate the work that has gone into this vid. (N) Cheers, Alex
  11. The Hope Mini Mono will have the nicer modulation but no where near the bite and hold of an Avid. The Mini Monos are known to be rather weak in terms of raw power but they have very nice feel too them. Having Tried Countless Avids and owned a Mono M4 which is the 4 pot (More Powerful) version of the Mini Mono, i would safely recommend the Avid. They are very easy to set up and have bucket loads of power (hold). They do have overheating issues with smaller rotor sizes but 180mm rotors and above will be fine. Cheers, Alex
  12. I have a square tapered crank extractor which will not work on an Isis bottom bracket as the pushing bolt is too small. So i would guess that if your tool is meant for an Isis BB, it will not fit in a square tapered one. Thats just a guess, See if you can borrow a square tapered version (an older one) from a friend. Cheers, Alex
  13. You can ride trials in skate parks and have alot of fun. You just have to be creative depending on what there is to ride. There are a few videos on the Sites,Vids and Pics Section that feature skate park riding if you want some inpiration. Heres a linky to a vid i noticed, some good riding going on there: http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....showtopic=66574
  14. Make sure you've got the speed dial adjustment as far away from the bar as possible, and do as much setting up on the caliper itself, instead of the lever. Realign the caliper, as this can give a crap lever feel if its not straight. Cheers, Alex
  15. I am not sure on the length of the Tuff Guys but as for durability, they will do the job fine.
  16. I would check that the head set cups are neatly in place on the frame and that all the spacers for the headset are in place (i forgot to put one in once and immediately the forks were loose). The star fangled nut could have pulled to the top of the steerer, or the steerer is too long and its pulling against the steerer instead of the stem. Check it out. Cheers, Alex
  17. I have found that Hairspray does the job, but when the grips get wet the grips start to slip. However i have heard that Disc Brake cleaner works well too
  18. Onza Tuff guys are obviously pretty strong but also quite heavy. They are quite a reasonable deal for £45. They'll last for a long time too so i.m.o. Go for it.
  19. Echo offer a range or forks that would be suitable. Personally i would look for some low forks as the Adamant frames have high bottom brackets which make them very easy to pull up. High forks i.e. anything over 415mm length will make the bike even easier to pull up which is not always nessecary, however if thats what you like, Kot do some forks for £60 at TartyBikes. They come with Disc and V-brake mounts and are 415mm in length. If you want something lower, the Echo Hifi forks are 400mm length and are very strong from what i have heard. They are more expensive though (£112). Hope this helps. (N) Alex
