I have been quite impressed with the orders i have been sending recently. I have been gettin them with in 3 or days. We did have one cock up a few weeks ago with a hayes brake, they told me they didnt have the order 4 days after i chased it up and they told me it would be hear. Then 3 brakes turned up at the same time. haha. I know what you are saying they do cock it up for us and we get it in the neck by the customers, but i have been really impressed recently. But yeah like jay jay said, get your best bet is to ring them and make sure they have the order, to cover your self. Because if you think about it they have orders from 400 odd stores they are gonna loose some.

Not sure how good the rim is, koxx are usually pretty good, but if the rim has a full braking surface you shouldnt need to grind the paint off. It will eventually rub away.

I know that the orange friction addiction grips used to come in orange, not sure if they do now. Give orange a call see if they still do them. Also i thing the raceface good 'n' evel grips used to come in orange color. Try any raceface dealer (leisure lakes for example) see if they can get them still.

Im agreeing with you 'mike' im getting pretty pissed off with people complaining about halfords. There is altho a topic going on right now in new members about halfords! Like i said in the other thead, some stores yes you will get complete goons who dont know what they are doing because they havent been on a training course or anything, other stores do have people who know what they are on about!!!! Just because you have had a bad experance with your store doesnt mean that everybody knows nothing. If you have had a bike that you have had to re-do your self, go into the store, go up to the manager and tell him. Dont make a complaint just suggest that they could do with some training. You could have just had a part timer who has just got a job there build your bike. Sometimes there will be bikes with problems with bikes, but thats just the way things are. If it was a shite PDI on your bike you should have said, and they would have got one of the better people to re-pdi it. As you know/guessed i work in halfords and do know alot about bikes and very rarely get a complaint about my work. And i know there are alot of stores with people like that, that do know their stuff!!

Right ok, i work in halfords same store as dan6061 and not every body are retards. Its the few that give the place a bad name. Our bikhut manager 'fatt matt' is one of these retards that has been working for the company for 11 years and still knows nothing. But me and dan (a.k.a jimbob) do know our stuff. Im a downhiller and know a hell of alot about all kinds of bikes and so does dan! Its all depends on the store you go to, fatt matt isnt a mountain biker atall and to be honest is totally shit! You will get that in alot of stores because most proper mountain bikers will go to a proper bike shop to work. When ordering suff usually its ok but head office do cock it up for us. I have worked there for 2 years and havent even been considerd to go on a training course with piises me off! Its all my own knowlage, same with dan! Dan knows more about trials bikes than me and i know more about downhill and jumpbikes xc bike and what not! Im full time and dan is part time and to be honest he knows more than fat matt, as do i. So its very rare that we get send on courses that could be why they f**ked up your maggie. We are lucky in our store that we do have 2 people that know what they are on about, unfortunalty not all stores are like that, but then there are alot of other stores like ours. So dont be calling all the staff retards please cos we arnt, its the actuall company thats retared!! They dont care much about sending us on training courses. Hence why fatt matt isnt very good, he hasnt been on a proper course in the whole 11years hes been in the company. Dont forget aswell, halfords isnt set for specilist bikers, the market is set for people wanting a 70 quid bike. Like i say there are some stores with good people like me and jimbob and there are alot of them. But you will come actoss stores that do have people who dont have a clue because they havent been send on a traing coures!

When i left school i didnt go to collage and i really wish i did.I went straight into a full time job because im not cut out for collage.I did rubbish in school. All my mates went to collage and they love it, getting qualifications for a job they want and gonna get paid well to do! So if you didnt want collage try and get a job, and then do things like nvq's. Im going onto a course so get a nvq in cycle mechanics and when i have done that im going to be doing a managment course! Its not worth the risk just riding everyday and thinking your becoming pro! Its what ever you think your best at doing, get a job and work your way up if your not cut out for collage but if you are go to collage and get things the easy way! I have funny shifts but i still manage to ride all the time, after work i go out and ride some street, on days off i will go out somewhere and hit some trails. But yeah, go to collage!!

I like to sleep! If not come on the tinternet and chat people on msn, come on hear and southerndownhill. If not that i will phone mates, or make amusing prank phone calles. Failing that i just tinker with the bikes or do somesort of exercise, press ups, sit ups jogging on the spot ect ect.

Do some other evening though, quite a few of us usually come out for a street ride around oxford. I dont actually have a trials bike im a downhiller but i think it would be cool to get different riders out in one group. I'll have a word with the dhers maby we could organise summit!!

I use hutchingson green dh tubes. Very very good tube and light weight too. Much lighter than my irc dh tubes i used to have.

They have a pedal insert but it isnt removeable. This happened to mine so i did the easy thing and brought some new cranks! Which crank did you bugger up dude, i may have a spare one lieing around somewhere.

The zona zip is a very long mod bike so if you want a short bike probably not the one to get. Jimbob (dan6061) has just got one and it is a really nice bike to ride. Its feels nicer that his t-pro he has and is incredably strong. It is a bit heavier but when you ride it you dont notice it.
