i was running an onza hog at the rear. i used koxx blues and still use them now. theyre shit hot in wet and good in dry. i was gaping to walls in the snow with them and they didnt slip. good pads

there are a few good begginer bikes from a mod perspective. it really depends on how serious you are about trials and how much patience you have. if its totally new to you and you're not sure, buy a t pro, they're average bikes and can be upgraded pretty easily and come with good enough components for beginners. if you think you will progress fast though, and are serious about the sport i would buy a second hand koxx or monty, depending on your money a brand spanker. every bike will benefit your learning, however if you buy a brand spanker top of the range you wont have anything to aspire to riding, and no comfort zone, in that......oh when i get a "blank" i will progress etc. TBJ

due to the extreme force put on trials bike frames theres a few snappages out there etc. i was just wondering to myself if anyone has had their frame repaired at all, or if they would appreciate a service to repair frames?

if your using a 4 inch grinder then all you need to do is buy a backing pad and some sanding disks, i wud suggest 60 grit. the backing pad and the front screw bit enables you to run sanding pads on small grinders. if you get a backing pad from say dixon halls or some other decent power tool place and some sanding pads, 36 grit being harsh, 60 being smooth, you can sand the anodised coating off without grindin your rim

its down to choice really, but hydraulic is the better method i think. motorcycle trials bikes used to have cable brakes but they got rid of them for a stronger brake, introduced hydraulic disks which are the standard now. cables are okay but they stretch, i know you can take up the slack etc as with the tpa on mag's but eventually the cables get frayed etc etc. both brakes require maintaining but hydros are more powerfull and i think less messy when setup. from a trials perspective, when braking with one single finger u can get more force to the rim through a hyrdo.

it makes no difference weather people post shit in a "members only" area or a "pre members area" if people are posting shite theyre posting shite. warn them then ban them like most other boards do (not trials related) this is the only board i have been on with a process like this. what in essence you are saying is that any shite is being filterd to the pre members area through a member system filter. it seems to me that the pre members area has more activity than the members area. if the process is in place to stop people "causing mayhem" why cant moderators just ban people who are distasteful? dosnt make sense to me im afraid. as for being here a month or whatever, thats got no relevance im making an observation thats all, like i said earlier i dont really care i hardly come on here, im more interested in riding my bike than talking about it all day

at the end of the day the way the forum is run is rather pathetic and childish. if users want to join the board in order to get involved in it and get help advice etc they shouldnt have to go through a silly joining process. if people are seen to be acting in a maner otherwise in accordance with good forum ways then the moderators can get rid of them. at the moment theres "pre-members" who are unable to post in the for sale, unable to post in the rides etc who may have been members awhile. how is this helping trials or progressing the sport, it just gets peoples back up. personally i dont care, but i can understand how people get annoyed.

well i used to try ride trials on a bmx about 94 ish when the only trials bikes u could buy were montys and they only sold them at motorcycle trials shops, well some like rathmells. got a GT palomar,upgraded the cranks and put a bashring on, DMR ring thing. dropped off a 4 ft wall and the back wheel buckled in half so built a new back wheel (mavic). still got the bike somewhere, that was my first semi trials bike. after 5 years out i bought a t bird at start of this year to test the water again 2 weeks later bought a T-mag and have now replaced practically every part on the bike apart from the brakes

koxx bloxx blues. recently got em been out in the snow and they aint slipped at all. good in dry too. dont know about longevity though

does anyone use an echo isis external BB on a mod or for that matter use one at all? if so what are they like etc? cheers kenny

echo team 2 bolt will fit. ive got one on my t -mag. dont get a normal echo booster as i did they dont fit, only the team

cheers guys just wonderd with the 110 mm axel spacing cos i aint sure what it is on the t mag changing my t mag from the front freewheel to profile with echo isis BB/ tensile cranks. anyone run any of these and any comments on what there like?

not really planning to sell. theres a difference between downloading somthing and owning it. i could download the beatles white album but if i was to own the original copy im sure the difference would be enough to buy as many bikes as i liked. just wondered really im not hoping to gain from my vid's i wudnt ever sell them they have too many memories attatched to them.
