  1. Sorry pal no buying or selling in new members chat you need to read the guidelines
  2. Hi it all depends on how much you are willing to spend because there are some easy ways of converting to singlespeed for instance, The expensive way; hope pro2 freehub or profile hub or chris king all good rear hubs but the pro 2 would require a single speed kit aswell and there are loads of available makes and models. The inexpensive way if your rear hub is not a cassette as in the old screw on freewheels go to your lbs if you dont have tool get them to remove it buy a new freewheel like a echo sl or something similar screw it on and away you go. hope this helped
  3. Very easy to do; 1. Place the cups just in the frame and no more (put a tiny bit of lubricant on if necessary). 2. Wedge the whole lot in a vice . 3. Slowly tighten the vice making sure that the cups go in evenly. 4. To minamalise scratching of the headset cups while in the vice use a couple of blocks of wood. I hope this is clear enough for you Tom
  4. That going to be one nice frame mate, cant wait to see the finished project

  6. If your bike is stock (as in how it arrived from the shop) you may have to change your forks also as they may not be disc compatable, worth a check if you decide to change. I have had rim and disc, vee and hydraulic and to be honest I like the feel of the cable disc better because I can feather the brake while manualing or doing endo's instead of locking the wheels if you pill your lever a tad too much.
  7. Have you undone the bolt to see if the threads are still intact, if they are try some loctite that will hold it in place.
  8. Hi everyone my freewheel on my crank broke yesterday and it lost all engagement, so I bought a new one and replaced it. The problem I have is that when the new one was bedding in there was a really loud crack, but as far as I can tell nothing has broke, snapped ect. I was just wondering what could it be. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. cheers.
  9. Because I dont get paid till friday and my front chainring has snapped, it was just to keep me riding but with the weather as it is I dont think ill bother. cheers anyway guys.
  10. No my gearing is definatley 22-18 yes it is a mod, I do have a 14 tooth freewheel at home so i know they exist, but if it cant be done well I will just have to find something else to do because the high winds and rain are putting me off riding today. cheers for the reply .
  11. Ok so I have a freewheel on the rear (18t) and I was wondering if a front freewheel could also be ran at the same time on the crank. i was thinking I would put the 18t on the front and put a different one on the rear i just need some ideas about gearing ect so I could give it a try, i am currently running 22-18 gearing. all comments welcome cheers tom

  13. I was meant to do mine with the Army but I ended up braking my arm, so I did it at a school for disabled children well enjoyed it , now I work there
  14. Honestly mate I havent a clue never used them, but by the looks of them they do have a slight curve. How much are you wanting to increase your wheelbase by?
  15. Or these they're in pretty good nick http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Monty-221pr-07-Forks-Trials-/280521132627?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item41505cca53 not a bad price either?
  16. There not curved as such there like swept forward, so more of an angle but if your willing to stretch you budget a bit you can get some pretty decent cheap forks from ebay, or you could wait untill you are validated and look on the forsale section on this forum for a good deal.
  17. Yes they would I had them a while ago, very strong and quite light . For a sturdy front end these forks very good especially for a tight budget.
  18. That is one really nice bike I think the only thing wrong with it is all the mismatched colour but if it rides well what the hey:P.
