frames: czar, adamant, zoo, gu, ko, echo..

rims: echo 07, strongest around

hubs: hope pro 2 trials/profile hub (must be 116mm wide)

cranks: middleburns/ adamant, zoo, echo, gu

Brake (back): magura hs33 (water bled)

Brake (front): avid bb7 disc 180mm/ hope mono trial

bottom bracket: skf 300/600 or echo external

well all those bits seem to be the best around without getting too pricey (Y)

For a mod

As said before any deng frame + czar etc

echo lite / zoo! forks or something similar.

hs33 rear + front with heatsink pads front and back = amazing.

tensile cranks are really nice i thinks.

wheels is up to you, monty ones dent soo easy though. I've dented mine several times.. >.< also depends on freehub or freewheel.

stem t-master is nice with zoo bars or similar.

pedals try-all twin cage are very grippy.

tyres try-all or maxxis.

chain kmc kool chain.

tensile or monty freewheel.

any headset...

can't think of anything else.

6.3 is tall for a mod though.

Tensiles are awful, snap really easy

cage pedals will rip your shins to bits and also break/bend easily, onza hogs seem to be the grippiest (non-cage) around

kmc kool chains snap easily but dont get stiff links, khe collapse are very strong, but do get stiff links easy

deng headsets are prone to snapping if youre into front wheel moves, hope's are good

If youve not rode trials before, go for a onza t-pro maybe ? Then if you don't like it you havent lost £1200 ?

Makes sence really. Look for a 05-06 ! :D

Ignore him, he lives in a barn. On a hill. Somewhere a bit more north than my house.

Anyway, I would buy second hand first, getr a complete bike, ride it, decide you don't like it and then change all the bit's you don't like. It doesn't matter what you buy, that's what you'll end up doing anyway.

They aint shite, there a great starter bike. Until you crack it >_<

I have ridden two, one was mine. HORRID.

And mine cracked when it was 6 weeks old, REALLY good frames, yeh, I love them.

Everyone else loves them, I just nurse a little pet hate for them because I got 6 weeks out of mine, then had to have 2 months off.

Buy second hand, don't listen to Ben, he rides stock ffs!

Thats what i said mate, buy a second hand one. Around 05-06!

You wont break it unless you ride like a tone of bricks like muel :P

I'm as light and nimble as a dragonfly!

Don't buy a T-Pro, I owned one, Ben hasn't, all the standard parts are poo and a lot of the second hand ones have been hammered by noobs with hammers.

As a first bike muel, it doesnt matter ? Ben has ridden may t-pro's. If you look around this forum i would say theres over 400 riders riding t-pros! Theres only one daft person on a DOUBLE disk echo lite :P

Daft! f**king daft?!

My bike is pro, you just don't like it because of the adapter!

I might add at this point, Ben knows so much about trials bikes in general, he rides a Saracen. I leave you to decide whether to trust him or not...

thanks for the replys guys, i have riden trials before. for a very long time infact, i stripped my first mountain bike down to the bare bones for trials in about 1990. converted bmx's, made frames, spent a fortune on spacific stuff later on. but i've just got out of a 5 year marrage, i've barely ridden for all that time. need to get back at it now, get my life back lol. i'm hopeing to rase between 3 and 6 hundred to buy a bike, so hope to get something tidy. a boy up the road from me is selling a gu, i'll try and see him tommorrow and see what he wants for it.
