Brake Booster Design Comp

Hi,

I said I would I would put this in here rather than in Trials Chat. I'm thinking of getting my mate to machine a 4 bolt booster for me. Just wondering has anyone had a go at designing their own booster? I would appreciate if someone handy at CAD or Sketchup would have a go at drawing one up. The best design will get their designed booster posted to them. :) My mate works in an engineering company, who specialise in custom brackets, pins and parts. My frame is a 2004 Echo Pure. Not sure what the spacing of the mounts are. Can get measurements if you want. Thanks in advance and looking forward to seeing the designs! :) Cheers,

Steve

if OD404 or HS Steve see this, and feel like they want to post. I thikn they know all there is to know about this subject. I recall a lot of uploaded images of images from some FANCY machine that tested stress over a booster, with a thermal image of area's that attracted the most stress etc.

Without real R&D like this, you're only ever 'designing' a shape of metal...

Anything is better than nothng i suppose, but it's tough to do a really good one...

Cheers for the reply mate. To be honest it's just a test really. My friend will make me a couple for free and I really don't feel like buying one and paying postage to Ireland. :D Even if someone has a go at the bolt hole spacing and basic shape, it would be a great help!

Cheers,

Steve

Does it have to be all professionally done or can you just open up paint and get drawing?

Something maybe on CAD or Sketchup would be good. Like the measurements/spacing would be handy. But have a go off Paint if you like! :D

i definately understand the satisfaction of home projects and doing things yourself. all the luck to you mate (Y)(Y)(Y)

Cheers mate
