Ash-Kennard
right. just bought a nice new echo tr rim brake and the new heatsink metal backings. fitted them to my bike no problem. the first problem i have if the pad not returning all the time. the bleed is perfect. but the pads seem to stick to the rim occassionally. i have to touch it with my fingers and it will flick back out to the back of the caliper. this keeps the wheel virtually locked up. so i then decided to move the sticky side out abit. so it virtually pulls into the bar. and there was no problems. but felt horrible. any ideas how to fix this? i have lubed up the piston. and the other problem, i cant remove the heataink pads. feels like i will be ripping the pin off the piston. any tricks to it? cheere, ash

krazykid009
I often find that overtightening the clamps can cause a non returning piston...try that James
Azarathal
My brand new Echo TR brake has this problem too, it's as if the backing is stopping the pad returning, as said by Ash if you touch it if flicks back at full speed, not the slow release you'd expect from a sticky. Ash-Kennard
both problems solved. just yanked the pad off. filed the outside abit, now it fits much better and doesnt get stuck. cheers for your help though. Azarathal i suggest you try this if you are running metal backings
