Mackie_1999
Hi there have recently purchased an echo 20" bike fitted with magura hs33 rim brakes and when I purchased the bike the brake lever was coming into the bars and the guy said it was just needing bled so it was at a bikes shop getting this process done today and hasn't made much of a difference I just was asking if anyone had any tips on how to make the lever bite further away from the handle bars and no play as the lever still comes right in to the fingers so Is there any suggestions on how to stop this happening? Thanks again Mackenzie
isitafox
Move the cylinders/pads closer to the rim?
trialsbiker12345
Does your magura have a tpa? (Little red wheel near lever blade) if so try turning this towards the plus symbol a couple of full turns and see if that helps. If so like 'isitafox' said your pads are too far away from the rim. isitafox
Easiest way to tell if it needs bleeding is to pull the lever just slightly and see if the pads move, if they move the instant you apply pressure then the bleed should be fine
lifes-a-trial
Bike shop Bleeds? On rim brakes? They don't know what they are doing because if they did they would have adjusted the slaves /set them up. or would have explained this to you so you could do it yourself.
