You can't easily play MP3's, create music, mix music, go on the internet, modify games (No I don't mean those cards that mess the games up, I mean Modifiying Vice city and stuff, adding extra roads and realistic cars...) You can't word process, spreadsheet, web design or anything. The list goes on... It's literally just games with consoles really, and those games get boring if you don't mod them. I think the PS2 is a dodgy piece of equipment. The dreamcast was a far more advanced machine (don't argue the case - it's a well known fact. It was too ahead of its time and flopped accordingly. People simply weren't ready for it.) I just got myself a nice Sony LCD (for a good price of course), and hey presto the UK PS2 won't hook up via component (as slightly expected) and all the leads I've tested for an RGB scart hookup look dreadful. I hook up a US X-box via component, give out a nice 600 odd progressive scan and it's a dream. I actually hate Sony*. Its going to cost tooo much and if its like the PS2 it will be hard to code the games for, or is the PS3 meant to be hard, I cant remember. I heard they prefer the Xbox 2 as the editing kits are alot easier to use. And I own no games consoles, so that makes my comment un-biased.
