I was born in Akrotiri and my sister was born in Dhekelia :P

When I read this thread I was going to post saying Cyprus was or still is part of the Commonwealth but it looks like Kathy already posted all the answers...

I'd love visit cyprusPeter :P

You should ;)

I left there when I was 3, since then I have only been back for 2 weeks :)

Good weather, great people, great food, and if you go at the right time of year go up into the mountains and play in the snow :-

It was really wierd, when we went back there the first time I was 16, we went for a meal where my parents used to eat quite often, the people in the restaurant were like "You used to live out here didnt you? Ah, is this your son? I remember him when he was very little...." It was really wierd! We then went back the next year and the same people went "Ah you were here last year, you come back...." (Y)

It really is a great place, I spose I am biased really though seeing as its a piece of my life history. Imagine going on holiday with your parents, driving round and getting told "thats where we used to live" etc...

I cant wait for my next trip back to my birthplace :P
