right ive been trying this for a while and cant seem to get it done, also im not very good at explaining the move so ive included a video link here if u want to have a see where im goin wrong

for those who havent seen the vid im riding up to curb perpendicular to it, 180 spin to back wheel and then attempting to spin another 180 up the curb, so making it a full 360 spin.

if anyone can see/has any tips on how to do this that would be great

cheers

Well...

Try keeping the front end higher. If you think of ice skatery type people, when they're spinning they keep their legs close to their body. If you sit on a swivel chair, and spin yourself, if you keep your legs out straight then bring them closer to you, your spin rate will increase. The same is true of riding. It looks like your front end's just too low, so you're losing the momentum of the spin from that. Also, you need to twist your upper body around more, and spot the landing. Keep looking over your shoulder and trying to place the bike down. The first few times you do this you'll probably end up stalling on the backwheel at about the 270° mark, looking over your shoulder, looking like a tit. After this, it's just a matter of putting more effort in. Try snapping your hips around more when you do the initial spin, so you end up landing just past the 180 mark so you're more likely to be able to keep the movement going. Keep yourself "lighter" - try not landing too heavily on the back wheel...

I'll try and get a vid of me doing it tonight to give you an idea of what I mean (Y)

When you land, you're not around the full 180, so the force of you landing is stopping the spin. If you can get it so you're landing exactly straight or more than 180*, you'll be well on the way (Y)

yeah, as tomm sed, when u land pre-180, ur directional momentum opposes the spin, so u'll lose ur spinning momentum. mite still be possible to pull it off with a bit of brute force. but just give it loads on ur first 180, and if u land over 180 degrees, ur directional momentum will naturally carry on pulling the bike round. hold urself steady over the bike and it'll just spin around on its own!!!

another tip for spins.... nearing the end, if ur losing momentum, get the front wheel pointing where it needs to be at the end of the move (if u have another 90 deg to go, u'll look like ur doin a half-ass turn down:p). now, still on the rear wheel (hopefully still spinning a bit) if u push down on the outside end of the bar, and pull on the inside end, the leverage created straightens the bike out, pulling it round to the desired finishing position. found this very useful maself. hope the description makes sense to at least a few people! Give it some brute force. A little more air in the rear tyre can help a bit if they are low too. Perhaps try to land with your rear wheel slightly more to the right (IF you are turning the same way as in your video, so that your momentum will be travelling through the same side that you want to spin, if that makes sense), and the most important things probably just to get more spin before you land, e.g. try to do 190 degrees before you land on the back wheel.

Hope that helps,

Scott
