Reet boys & girls,

Does anyone have any constructive advice regarding how I can learn to wheel-swap to backwheel/side hop from backwheel..

I've been trying both the past few days but seem to be going nowhere:-

wheel-swaps - Should I start small (under 12") or bigger, as I have tried both & I just keep landing on my bashguard as I cant seem to throw my weight up rather than forwards.

Side hop - I can side hop from both wheels onto things just over 1 & 1/2 foot high, however when I try to do it from back wheel I find I cant shift my weight sideways & throw my front wheel/my arms forward to get both level for the landing, at the same time.....

Cheers in advance,

Derv.

wheel swap.. dont know, cant do that

sidehop.. i'm just starting to get them but...

try a little pedalhop forward then do the sidehop straight out of that, I find it easier than trying to balance on the backwheel for any length of time and you're already kind of setup from the first bounce.

Maybe that page on the wheel-swap and that one on how to land to front wheel is what you'd need.

:-

And on sideways rear hop

The extra thing you need when sidehoping from the rear wheel is to really aim the front wheel over the obstacle... with an angle to it rather than purely paralel to the wall. And you need to really follow your shoulders, rather than just push the bike forward.

Hope it helps ;)

for a wheelswap start like your going to sidehop it then just lfick the backend round and hop thew front wheel when you land, it will just look like a sidehop to front wheel at first but as you get the hang of it start going at more and more of an angle (Y)
