Chain And Sprocket Problems

hi i have been using echo front cog and surly rear cog with a kmc kool chain for about 6 months,

i bought a khe collapse chain and attempted to use it and it keeps making banging noises and skipping

(no its not the hub). do i need new sprockets ?

Might be the wrong pitch chain.... more than likely it's the good old new chain on old sprockets........ the only way to solve that is buy new sprockets.... and buy an mtb chain as there stronger....

Yep, defiantly need new chainring and possibly sprocket. I had the exact same problem as you about a week ago, got new chainring, and now its smooth.

Try not to run it for too long on your worn chainring to prevent your new chain wearing in all crap.

My chain snapped on my da bomb and I brought a kmc cool chain and I have this same problem but I have a front free wheel so I wont want a new chainring what else could it be ?

the same.... new cog on rear..... and new cog on the front...... it's the only thing it can be.... front free wheel or not....

Yep, he's right, but have a look at the teeth first for signs of wear, if you're lucky it'll only be one of the above, spare you a few pennies (Y)
