I think most people using mavics use the D521 (I think its 721 now) they are a little thin for modern frames which is why they arent used as much any more, because setting the brake up us stupidly hard or impossible. They were great rims on the older frames but by todays standard are a little thin. Ronnies are good just dont grind them alot or they turn into cheese :ermm:

what he ^ said, I, use a ceramic xc one on the front and had a ex721 on the back, if they fit in your frame theyre perfect, light and super strong, you can always make pad spacers

pad spacers? what is that? :P how do i make them?

I had an 06 Echo full wheel build for the rear of my zona from BTC, and i must say it was the best wheel I've ever had!

With a light grind and a set of koxx reds it was also the greatest holding a biteing brake i've ever had!

I really cant stress enough how truely amased i was. lol
