Locking Out A Freewheel

You just need to do anything to lock the pawls out, really, so just putting anything underneath them that will stop them from disengaging is all you need to do. Obviously welding it's a good thing to do, but you don't have to I wouldn't have thought.

Do it ghetto and get little bits of gravel and wedge 'em under the pawls :P

i've heard of taking the lockring off and filling the internals with superglue while on an engagement point. will this work??

oh hell no , if anything was gonna work besides welding it id say put 2 of the 4 paws in backwards that would work or try somat stupid like expanding foam .

probably but use something a bit stronger 'cause the slamming from you pedal hoping etc will make the glue crack up etc weld it maybe?

Not really, because when you kick, it's already in an engaged position so it'd be just like "Bring it on"?

And to stop it coasting, all you have to do is make whatever force is holding it in place stronger than the force it takes to make you make the rear hub coast, if you get me? Which wouldn't be too much, so it wouldn't have to be mad strong, to be fair.

Ever thought of just selling it on and getting a fixed cog instead though? Probably work out stronger at any rate, no driveshell to snap or pawls to shear or whatever?

You dont have to lock it together because when you get a rear freewheel it will still work just that when you are freewheeling along the rear freewheel will be coasting but when you bring the pedal back round to hop again the the front freewheel would be freewheeling instead. Unless u just want to lock the acs because you dont trust it.
