RobinJI
Your mate was right Maxxis are very good for the money. Personally I'd go for either a High roller for more street based stuff, or Minion for more natty stuff. Either way, in 42a and 2.5 dual ply for the rear. And then a High Roller for the front, but in 2.35 single ply. Would be rather nice, and very sticky. If you want the ultimate grip go for the 40a's but they won't last as long. For the rear:Maxxis Minion Dual Ply 2.50 42a ST Description- Available in 2 compounds:- Slow Reezaay 40a rubber compound offers un-rivalled levels of grip, no matter what the terrain.- Super Tacky 42a rubber compound offers great grip, while still lasting a fair while.- Slow rebound rubber properties mean a rubber that returns to shape much slower than ‘normal’ tyre compounds, thus ensuring better grip.- Dual-Ply tyre casing (sidewalls) with butyl inserts gives excellent puncture resistance.- Ramped knobble profiles offer good mud clearance in wet conditions.- Weights: 2.5" = 1248g (lighter than most competitor's tyres of a smaller size), 2.35" = 1206gDan....................
