It might actually be an idea to write a letter, what if the dipshit gaurd does something that causes an accident?

its a pisser dude, but it still may well be the post's fault. I bought xc hub spings and a drive side spacer off wiggle on the 7th Aug, I recieved them yesterday! After a certain amount of time though, the post is classed as lost and money can be claimed back off royal mail. Give one of their call centres a buzz and find out where you stand.

+3 I rode mine to work this morning! I have the base for getting places and an echo for trials, and sometimes I find it hard to decide which is more fun!
-
An excellent idea dude. Here's my refs : http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....8&hl=elliot and thanks! Edit - pending checking obviously!

there is a pic on sheldon brown's site here: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/gloss_ra-e.html, but it does not specifcally say that your wrong so probably wait till someone who knows for sure.

You got me thinking about it, I have an old echo bounce frame, which supposedly has sprung chainstays, but I don’t think it works well at all. I recon when a frame flexes, the direction of flex may not be correct to give you forward impetus. For example the bb yoke flexes to the right when your putting alot of pressure on the right pedal, when the frame snaps back into shape its going from left to right, which is no help if your doing a pedal kick forwards. And its not just going to be the bb yoke that flexes, the whole frame will flex all over the place. So (if my figuring is right!), if you wanted a frame thats acts as a spring, you need not only to make a frame that flexes correctly for the rider, but a frame that flexes in the right direction too!

awesome, I'll give it a crack over the weekend. Thanks dude!

That’s cool man, Stud and Bearing, that’s the locktite stuff, so the same as jimbo160 suggested? I got the cranks second hand off tf a while ago, only just got round to fitting them and there is play, so I spose they must have been ridden loose. I am currently doing a coke can bodge (well scrumpy jack bodge actually, how chavtastic am I?) but it’s a bugger to force the can in, and because its under such load the metal is deforming thinner. I think I'll go with this (as tarty adam also suggested), but will I ever be able to take the thing apart again? Not to fussed really though, I was considering giving it to my bro to attack with his welder, but thats lots of waiting around cos he lives miles away. Cheers for the replies guys, and sorry it took so long to reply. Every once in a while my work computer simply refuses to load up tf for a while!

got one and done it, its as tight as I can get it!

Bought some middleburns off here a while ago and finally got round to fitting them. Problem is that where the bashring mounts onto the drive side crank there is play in the splines, so the bash has slight movement. You can feel as you pedal a slight 'click' where the bash moves and the cranks dont. Anything that can be done? At the moment I’ve ‘persuaded’ part of a coke can in between the gap in the splines, but there is still movement. Suggestions? Aside from getting new cranks! Ta, e.

are they the trailblade forks? as they are not the lightest forks in the word. You may want to think about getting something lighter as it will help you get the front wheel up and help keep you balance as it will lower your centre of gravity when the front wheel is in the air.

rub the pads on the pavement to take off the top layer of crud. Otherwise when you clean the rim, the pads may still be covered in poo.

Thanks man, and thanks for talking me through all the faults with the damn thing!
-
this is true, and at the end of the day I'm not gonna moan, cos I got some money back and he apologised so its all good.
-
except I feel I should have pointed out to the cheeky f**ker that I am in fact 26.
-
In an earlier message I asked for £15, this was before I realised the state of the rim. But bearing in mind £41 minus £15 is £26 posted for the wheel and that he apologised, I think I'll settle for it. At the end of the day I can't be arsed. thanks guys!
-
Cool, thanks man, whats his TF user name, I'll pm him once I've counted the spokes and all this balls has blown over.
-
Thats the thing, at the end of the day if he had descibed it correctly he still would have made a score out of it, and I dont think I would have minded paying that for a repairable mono and a rim thats gonna last a while at least. I'm going to order drive side spacer and springs from wiggle for about £6, and then thats £14 towards the cost of a DX32 off tarty (provided the spokes are similar enough), so if he comes back with £20, then all is about cool. Thanks again for all the constructive and well informed help guys,
-
I've probably been too soft, but I just want a wheel I can use, and I do think the hub is salvagable. Again, many thanks for all the help you guys have been on this.
-
have a look at the picture on the previous page, you can see one spring and what I believe to be the remains of another spring. Edit: thanks for the responce, justifies my irritation!
-
What do you recon? feel free to suggest replys to each point and when I get to work tonmorrow I'll check what you lot recon before replying to him, thanks guys

finite amount of movement in a giro though, presumably enough for the amount of cable a v-brake pulls, cos I doubt there is that much difference between the amount of cable a u-brake pulls and a v-brake? You're right though, it'd feel poo.
-
fair play, that is good and cheap, but I have bought a 2nd hand maggie with evo mounts for £30, and I bought a pair of v-boosters for £6 and some fairly decent new rimjams for £5, but then they werent all new. But if the guy already has the maggies and just needs the mounts, then it is going to be more expensive to change to v's. Listening to you does tempt me to change to v's though, whats the modulation like with v's compared to maggies, and what affect does a smooth rim have? (sorry for hyjack!)
