    Zhi Rim V 2.0

If you've put that much effort into re-designing your rim, why not run alloy nipples too?
  2. Yep, used to be Michael Singleton's orange one, but I got my brother to aqua blast it back to silver. Always been impressed with hsb stuff, thats why I bought the bash and the Coust pads.
  3. Wow seems I own a dirty slag of a bike! Anyone else ridden or owned the et24?
  4. The et24 was bought off here from Liam (the munn) not too long ago and I havnt done that much to it besides putting a couple of gears on it, changing the forks from heavy arse tuning forks to controls then pursuading a hollow sf nut that it wanted to fit down the steerer and changing a bit of a rough headset for a nice shiny gold one. The sickening thing is that it is as light as the mbk which I've spent a sodding fortune on! Both ride lush though, even if the mbk is a bit of a tank! Edit- thanks for all the comments by the way!
  5. Hey all, just about got my bikes where I want them, here you go: Apologies for the gay iphone pics, comments and suggestions welcome. Ta!
  6. I do exactly that, except I'd probably spend a bit more on the cable and get an oddessy linear slick or similar, rather than a cheap one that may stretch and not run quite so smooth. Personal prefernce though.

  10. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models....p;ModelID=15675 identiti tuning fork, though 395mm. I took a set off a bike i bought because i decided potentially loosing my teeth by using deng forks was worth the weight save. You can have them for a score if you like? Theres a couple of paint chips on them and the v-brake lugs have been ground off for some odd reason, but with a bit of cleaning up they could be pretty tidy. Pm me if your interested.
  11. what tensioner is it? One wheel or two? is it sprung or fixed? Have a look some of the tensioners on tartybikes and see if you can see it there. Also get some pics up.
  12. Thought I would add this as I was seriously impressed by it and I thought there may be some of you out there that this may apply to:
  13. Hey man, I have a quick release axle at home from when I upgraded. If ur looking to buy one let me kno as it's in great nick. e.
  14. f**kING C"MON! http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=588530 Now I'm going to sleep as I have to be up in 5 hours. Bum. edit: thats cool, its like an upside down trebuchet
  15. you've got to love simple ideas, http://FantasticContraption.com/?designId=578613 I just cant get awash. JUST TOO MANY BALLS!!
  16. I emailed them and I'll see what happens. I may try and do a wiki about it, either "using a dremel to replace you old style hope headset bearings" or "using a dremel to f**k your old style hope headset right up"! Cheers guys!
  17. I cleaned them as best I could, then ran some finish line around the bearings as I reconed that'd be better at getting to the sealed bearings. I did speak to tarty, and they said the bearings are different to the new. So now the question is can I get the old ones out (they seem stuck in) and where can I get some new bearings for it?
  18. Hey all, bought a an old style hope headset of ebay, which doesn't run particularly smoothly. I know that you can pick up bearings for the new style headsets, will they fit the old? And what are the chances of me actually getting the old bearings out of the headset? Ta, e.
  19. Thats the bonus of buying new, you don't spend half a day trying to fit some grubby second hand shite to some other grubby second hand shite! (oh, and a massive amount of experience building bikes!) Gorgeous bike too!
  20. Looking at the lever, the piston would run parrallel to the bars. I was of the understanding that the better design is to have the lever piston at 90 degrees to the bars as with echo levers and the newer magie levers? A friend of mine who completed as automotive engineering course mentioned this in passing, I imagine the reason is something to do with the echo and new hs33 levers allowing your finger to pull in the direction of the force meaning the lever is more comfortable and easier to exert pressure on?
  21. MBK t1000 evo 2 has horizontal dropouts and 135mm spacing. Not cheap or that light though.
  22. Ok, I think people are getting a bit het up here. While some of you may think this is working as an advert I don’t think it is the same as a banner. I think it is no different from (for example) tensile showing everyone their new tensioner a little while ago in the news section, where people also ask about prices. Its a good thing. As to whether this is DOB, whats to say the factory that makes dob frames is not at fault for the similarities between this frame and the dob? This is all just speculation though and I'm not sure what purpose it serves, do you think this frame will take a significant amount of sales from monty or dob? I still think providing frames at the sorts of prices mentioned earlier is a good thing, but there will always be more of a risk as you simply don’t know anything about the company. I think a fair proportion of what you pay money for on a frame is related to reputation, and that’s not a bad thing as then you know the frame is quality and will last, and there are reliable customer services in place if not (not that I’m commenting either way on either zhi or rulong). Still, poxy 116 spacing…
  23. whats the hub spacing on the stock?
  24. I get that when I'm at home on my ibook, but only with some avatars. I only got it for some people's though, so I just assumed everyone was seeing it and it was the latest tf trend to have massive avatars!
