I would be careful with this. As when you drill holes into the bar you will be creating moments of force around the holes, even if they are small ones. If your handy with Pro E you could model your bars and do a FEA analysis. That would help show you where you could place the holes and how big to make them. Overkill i know but better safe than sorry i.e. do a drop and your bars snap where you've drilled Or dont drill them, is a couple of grams really gonna make the world of difference? Thats like going for a big poo before a ride (probs save more wieght this way lol)

Hey I know how your feeling, im just back to it after a couple of years out of it. Its soo good when you start progressing back to the standard you left off with Main thing is have fun and meet up with other riders which helps boost the confidence

modulation is the difference between your brake setup being on/off(no modulation) or you can apply the brake in stages i.e. it doesnt lock up instantly (modulation) Make any sense?

loving the tensioner! I take it thats a DIY job?

I always used to use tar, just pick some off a road. But i recently put a light grind on my rim with a set of Koxx blocks (brown ones) and it feels so much better i.e. more modulation of the brake, but still with the same good bite as with the tar. Have you considered using a grind?
