  1. I quite like heading out on my own, not all the time though, as it's sometimes just nice to have a laid back do what you want sesh. But that can get a bit tedious, which is where it's nice to head out with your mates (thats if you have local riders that is)
  2. Hi guys, I've just moved to Leith and was wondering where the good spots are to ride? Im just getting back into things as iv been of the bike for 2years after a bad injury, anyone local fancy meeting up for a trial? Cheers
  3. what to do is find other riders in your area, and ask them to have a go on their bikes, that way you can get a good feel for the different size of bikes, then pick the one you felt most comfortable on
  4. Hey there, i think you will find what your looking for on Marilyn Mansons album: Smells like Children, look for a song called "F**k Frankie" im sure you can use some of that, its not really a song, just sounds like two people having sex, perfect for what you want
  5. Hey there, What to do is check on ebay for mod bikes, theres always ones on there, saw one last week that went for £80. Your best best is to get an onza, they seem to be very popular since they are nice and cheap, and not a bad bike to learn the basics on. Hope you find what your looking for
  6. haha thats great dont think it will catch on though also its nine minutes into it before he rides with out a tyre, which aint anything bad, because the riding is great
  7. Nice worksman ship there, looks nice. A friend of mine a couple of years ago used a knife, did the job good and proper, just used a jocky wheel from the likes of the DMR sts. Great thing about these aswell, if you bang it out of shape on a fall, just bend it back
  8. "Anti Chav militia" and yes i did steal that from MBuk Front logo: "No your dad can't do that better than me" Back logo: "And no your Uncle can't do it either"
  9. id count from when you started getting interested and trying things out, i learnt my first back hop 5-6 years ago, man i feel old
  10. I almost forgot how good a rider he was, he blew my mind when i first watched his vids from when he rode for echo, anyone else remember those vids?? Now iv found his new stuff on the koxx site, hes a nutter, love it Whats your views people?
  11. Man this sucks, iv had my vario styx for 5 months now, went to replace the headset that came with it, since it kept coming loose. . . . . only to find out that my headtube is ovalised!!! It could of been a lot worse if i left it any longer. Good thing is the new one fits better (plus a bit of bearing lock) and should last me a wee while yet. Just a warning to all you guys and girls out there. . . . . keep those headsets tight, plus if youve got a vario styx with the original headset, replace it!! lol Better start saving just incase my frame dies
  12. i dont know if i would trust them to hold my frame together, but all the same them and zip ties are ace, also not forgetting good ol gaffer tape hehe, man that stuff is good
  13. All you can really do is keep practicing, theres nothing wrong with moving a couple of inches to start with, what may help is try staying nice and loose and keep everything nice and smooth (harder than it sounds i know) it will come with time. What i like doing is trackstanding on a thin wall a couple of foot off the ground, that way you have to minimise your movement, otherwise you fall off Just practice and stick with it, and you'll be doin it in no time
  14. Hey guys and girls, Me and a few mates are thinking of heading down to addingham within the next month or so, and am just wandering if there is anyone here from around that area and want to meet up and session that lovely place. Not sure on dates yet, just depends when we can all get the time off and ofcourse the all important cash, since we are travelling from NE Scotland. Would be great to hook up with a few more riders Cheers
  15. im using a PIC16F84A, iv got all the instructions(34 single words) just need help with writing the dam code what im doing is building a sensor cluster containing a micro switch, air flow sensor and a temp sensor. The micro switch is straight forward iv managed that. What i need help with is reading in the values from the other sensors and outputting when they change by a set amount as an alarm. Im using Micro chips MPLab IDE to program the chip, which dont make much difference since its assembler code im writing. When you google it the amount of crap you get is unreal, might have to buy a book keep the ideas coming cheers
  16. Hey guys and gals, Just wandering if there was anyone on here with experiance in programming PIC's using assembler language. Need to know this for one of my projects, if so can you point me in the direction of any good tutorials? cheers guys
  17. head over to www.myticketmarket.com i did a quick search and it seems that they have them on sale right now. Check it out, and let me know if this is what you were looking for
  18. When you buy a set of maguras they usually come ready for "v" brake mounts, with a quick release that mounts onto your brake bosses, so you should have no problem. They get a bit fiddly and are a bit harder to set up than a four bolt mount. Apart from that i highly recommend you get one, you won't regret it
  19. The vario is just amazing, very strange to start with, but once tamed its a beast!! best one so far. Im in the process of getting pics off a mate of mine whos been taking them, and hopefully our site will be back up and running soon. Il post the site when its on
  20. Its a lot easier if you buy them already drilled, that way your gaurenteed a good strong rim, instead of guessing where to drill the holes. Head on by good old tartybikes they've got a nice selection from cheap to top of the line and as always their friendly service
  21. haha free beer is always good, we went around glasgow uni, a few bits and pieces there, just a pity it ended so soon. How long you guys been riding then? o yeah nice site aswell might send you a few pics to put up
  22. cheers guys, im going to try and get upto inverness before i head back to uni, so i will defo be in touch, there would be a small group of us coming through and i need to get back to glasgow soon, went not long ago, but i tore my mech off 1hr into the ride I will be in touch, thanks again
  23. id go with a koxx, had one for a good while now, never had to true it yet unlike other rims in the past either that or im getting better haha
  24. theres a few spots in the centre of town, but you gotta know where to look iv met a few of the guys in stonehaven mainly paul and kev, you met them? sound bunch of guys. Wouldnt mind heading up your way sometime soon though, always fancied inverness
