  1. Great video. I liked seeing the struggle, so to speak. Massive amounts of dedication.
  2. As above, study music theory to gain an understanding about how music as a whole is put together. Try to meet musicians who play other instruments, and pick up one yourself. I highly recommend piano, as learning it has served me well as a basis for all other music, but it could be guitar or anything really. Most importantly, please don't give up. It's obviously something you love, don't let disappointment get to you for long. Best of luck to you! P.S. Here's a really quick track I put together messing about one day in Rebirth. As I mentioned learning the piano, I wrote this on the piano and then just moved into the digital instruments. It is really simple, but it shows what you can do with a rudimentary knowledge of theory and a little time spent messing around. My Little Track P.P.S Just seen you've already replied, spent 6 years in band. Sorry! I must learn to read topics before posting. I guess perhaps you could try looking up some tutorials, tips, and howtos on the web and youtube? Sorry I'm not much help. Best of luck!
  3. Great show, I absolutely love Heroes. Here's a blog written by one of the Director/Producers of the show. http://gregbeeman.blogspot.com/ He writes about the process of creating the show, and I really gained a respect and appreciation for all the hard work they put into this show. It's my favorite show on TV! )
  4. Loved this video. Great editing, filming, riding, good music. I loved hearing the sound from the camera as well as the music (really added a lot to it.) I loved the color of this video too, and the shots you got (ones of just the back tire, little shots like that, just great.) Just awesome all around.
  5. Thanks for posting that! I remember watching Mike Bentham videos when I was just starting trials. I love how relaxed the whole video was, and his trials was just effortless. Especially hopping across all those pipes; it was so smooth and fast, too.
  6. Good video, I accidentally watched it with my sound turned off and missed the music haha. Great riding though, your style is very light and simple, I like it.
  7. Blender3D is a full featured free 3D modeling software. Check it out!
  8. Have you thought of earbuds? They might be less of a hassle to use while riding. I have heard really good things about Shure brand earbuds, even though they are out of my budget. Depending on how much you can spend, they might be worth looking into. I've heard the sound reproduction is amazing with them. Since I was on a tight budget, I took a chance on some cheap Koss earbuds, and have been very impressed. They come with three different sizes of earpiece covers, so you can use the one that fits best, and they isolate well. I was impressed by the bass in them. They are by no means bass heavy, but you can actually hear the bass in the music, which surprised me for something so little. (Not that bass is the measure of an earbud, as the mids and highs sound good to me as well with these.) If Koss' higher end earbuds are any improvement over the model I got, then they're pretty awesome . Anyway, tell us what you find and if you end up happy with it .
  9. I remember downloading this way back when, and it has remained one of my favorite trials videos. Good music, great riding, super style
  10. Wondering why you didn't read any of the links provided in my earlier post?
  11. Spode: I notice you have steam installed on XP in VMWare. Are any games playable? Here's a semi-current pic of my setup (not actually running dual monitors at the moment as I completely ran out of desk space on my physical desk.) Slackware 12 with me in the midst of examining and learning about differences in font rendering!
  12. I saw a 9/11 conspiracy video which caused me to wonder for a while whether there was more to the attacks then publicly known, but after some searching, all my doubts and curiosities were laid to rest by reading the following: http://wtc.nist.gov/pubs/factsheets/faqs_8_2006.htm http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology...aw/1227842.html http://www.loosechangeguide.com/LooseChangeGuide.html Incidentally, I stumbled across these links while reading The Best Page In The Universe (Warning: Offensive material in most of Maddox's articles. Please read with care!)

    Help

Did anyone notice any weird behavior out of your computer after playing this game? I accidentally clicked on the gray area on top of the game, and then Windows wouldn't shut down properly later that night (that was the only unusual thing about that session I did). Also, after the restart, firefox has lost over half my bookmarks and my home page. How odd.
  14. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ <---Very nice free audio software
  15. Finally got dual monitor sorted with Ubuntu Linux [attachmentid=8219] Edit: Pinky, what's the name of the dock in your screenshot? It looks very nice !
  16. I second the opinion you will need a suspension corrected (longer) fork. I have a Giant STP (similar geo, has suspension), and when I put a regular (shorter) rigid fork on it, it was HORRIBLE. You need the longer fork to keep your bb off the ground.
  17. Inur and Siders77: Those are hilarious! Awesome.
  18. Made these a year or two ago in that BikeCAD program online. Posted them once, but maybe they're worth a laugh.
  19. I have a Sony Handycam DCR-HC30, and I ran into a very similar problem. It seemed there was no way to get video off the camera! Windows Movie Maker did work, but in order to capture in Adobe Premiere, I had to buy a firewire cable and connect using that. Turns out the USB was only meant for getting still pictures off of it. Don't know if yours is the same, but that may be something to try .
  20. Seeing all the negative replies, I was afraid it was going to be really bad, but I didn't think it was . I enjoyed the video, it showed me a level of riding that I may be capable of someday. Just because my mind wasn't blown by the magnitude of your drops and gaps doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the video. As a matter of personal opinion, I say stick with the 26". If some think you are too small, so what? Ride what you enjoy.
  21. READ THE THREAD! (Links to the low qual version on the site )
  22. From the website linked above . (bravia-advert.com) I agree, my favorite ad, ever. I think it's amazing .
  23. I've actually got the one you linked to (actually the 505II - just like it as far as I can tell.) Like Tomm just said, the sound quality isn't the greatest (may have something to do with the really cheap cable/amp I was using). It's alright, but a little confusing to navigate the effects, and make them sound just how you want. With a little playing with it, you could probably get it easily though. Also, the built in tuner in mine seems a little off (I could be wrong, as mine is third hand and may have been through a lot). Hope that helped in some way .
  24. Reminded me of a bike I "designed" while playing around in Blender3D a few years back, although I hadn't figured out where to route the chain, and the geo was... questionable (hehe). Here's a pic: Always thought that a single tube design was kind of the elemental trials bike that was bound to appear sometime. Looks cool .
  25. I found some lithium grease at the hardware shop, and got the wheel cleaned, greased and put back together. Very cool, as it's been a long time since I've ridden this bike. Brake setup, as always, was very unfun (vees with no booster), but I got the thing in a rideable condition. Now to learn the sidehop.... Thanks for your help guys .
