    G-turn

The G turn is a smooth move, you just have to accept its going to take a long time, I have been doing front wheel moves for years now so I have g turns and roll backs down to a T, I’m doing squeakers with a blindfold on now to. I have found it’s one of the hardest moves to teach someone, the best way to start is by perfecting the squeaker tricks first. When you come to doing the G Turn the biggest problem is committing to releasing the front brake after the pivot. When I do the move I approach the turn as a stoppie but I wouldn’t advise trying that yet. Have a look at this video I do a few G Turns plus roll backs. http://www.thinkbikes.com/video/thinkbikessheppey
  8. Nice pictures Adam, I must admit after that drive up I just wanted to go to bed, didn’t get home until 4:30 this morning so I’m totally shagged now. It was an enjoyable ride, would be nice to spend a few days up with you so we could get a long ride in. Nice to see Waddy receiving £2 from the drunks, shame you didn’t have a picture of that diseased woman giving Spode a kiss.
  9. when should rain be stopping a trials rider riding??? Just get out and ride, if brakes are your problem get twin discs and if its tyres then get some super tacky maxxis. Isn't trials all about the challenge
  10. And when i say im bringing Darren I mean Darren Lee Hill
  11. I will be there rain or no rain but i cant get there untill 12, Im bringing Darren too

  17. Have a look in car parks, if they have put down concrete then you normally find it between the sections as they put Tar in there to cope with expansion and movement.
  18. Well there’s a good lesson for every one, don’t put silicon on you tires… For those that don’t know silicon (apart from the sealant) in a lubricant, you wouldn’t cover your tires with grease or 3 in1 oil, if you have a good look on the can of tire shine (basically silicon spray) it will say only use on the tire side wall keep away from brakes disc tire tread etc. I can see it making rail gaps lethal.
  19. You may find your not doing 3lts an hour but on a hot day when your riding good, its probably not far off it, remember you will lose water by sweating, going to the toilet, breathing, spitting etc. If you know you will lose say 2lts of water on a ride doesn’t mean you should drink 2lts of water before you go out as over hydrating can be as bad as dehydrated, you should be drinking little and often, so drink a bit before you go and realistically every 10 min during exercise.
  20. Yep i would go along with that, sounds about right
  21. There no doubt about it your going to get hot in this weather there’s no stopping that, try and ware minimal clothing but still keep covered plus the old sun screen, a little tan is nice but a burn isn’t (speak to Daren Hill about that). You want to drink as much water as possible before you ride and then try and keep you fluid intake up when your riding, to give you an idea if an athlete has a loss of 2% of his/her water volume they can suffer a 50% drop in performance. On a normal day the average person will lose about 2.5 litres of water so just think how much you lose in a 3 or 4 hour ride on a hot day. The more dehydrated you become the hotter you will get. Some facts: An 11 stone man will contain approximately 50 litres of water so a loss a loss of 1 litre will equal 2% dehydration. A loss of 3 litres will be 6% now you can expect to become sleepy experience headaches and you may feel tingling in one's limbs and a bit shaky.
  22. Hay does that mean you can ride the Edinburgh demo next sat with me then?
  23. Did anyone in the south east (Kent area) see Meridian this evening? As our trials team thinkbikes.com had a mention and apparently there was a short clip of me riding. I think it was about the tour coming to Tenterden. We are performing there when the tour come’s through, Tenterden is the first sprint stage of the Tour De France, the sprint stage is said to be as bigger event as the finish line. I must admit I’m really happy about us being chosen for this show as its going to have international coverage, there are big points for the tour riders to gain at the sprint stage so its ‘the’ best places to see it, plus were there…
  24. They are some bad feet pictures there, you better keep off the bike for a bit Rob
