  1. That was some beating you got, shrugged it off like a man though lol. Gonna be sore tomorrow!
  2. So how come so many people seem to die from it then? Or is it just that those are publicised and the 'usual' aren't?
  3. Well excuse me for being old skool, besides... what flavour pizza is that? Anyway, so it is now possible to enter a UCI competion with a SS setup?
  4. See how much play is in the pads but I doubt its that. Could it be the spokes? EDIT: Typed before I saw forteh's reply
  5. Get the Wellgo Magnesium, less than £40, cant go wrong!
  6. Yeah well that's cool an' all, but if very few people take part then it still sucks, no?
  7. Check the mounting bolts and also disc to hub face bolts are tight and torque them correctly if you can
  8. nah it's to do with the pinched in-ness (sorry for the technical talk) of the plates, it just needs a slight jar in the other direction to sort it. If it had not been clamped then possibly a lack of lubrication could be the cause yes, you are spot on there.
  9. True, I aint being much of a pansy about it, I just thought I should take some responsibilty for once, but obviously it isnt required just yet. I was actually going to put at the end "Now tomorrow should I book an emergency apointment or go ride?" but thought that would get slated, haha.
  10. Ok so most of this week I have been feeling pretty rubbish, I have been off work the last 2 days because I felt really really rubbish. My job involves dealing with the public and no one wants to do that when you already have a head ache. Anyway, basically I have a cold/ flu bug/ what ever. Or so I thought. While on the phone to some one to let them know I won't be at the race circuit tomorrow they asked if I had swine flu. I jokingly replied "yeah, that's the one, aye." To which they said "have you been tested for it?" Me, getting rather confused by this point, asked "what, for swine flu? yeah right" Which got the reply "There have been six confirmed cases up here this week." Now 'up here' relates to the Isle of Lewis, which as you may have guessed is an island, so that means 6 people on an island have swine flu and it can only get worse.
  11. Is this why the comps are drying up?
  12. Hmm, play about on your back wheel for a while, I mean like half a day or so. Explore every move you can think of using only your back wheel. Dont worry to much about going up and down stuff, just concentrate on your acuracy and confidence on the rear wheel. Practice small hops, big hops, spins, hopping back wards, hopping to the side, combos, turning on the spot. Then once you have completely exhausted your imagination, try hopping up and down a curb. Then film an epic video
  13. I used that other part of the chain tool once, and only once, because it broke I usually drive the pin through then flip the chain tool round and give it a 'tweak' in the oposite direction. Meh, either way it means you can go ride
  14. That frame has 116mm hub spacing and horizontal rear drop outs, making it a single speed frame, a frame which you could only run one rear sprocket on. My understanding of the regulations for trials competitions is that all stock (26" wheel) bikes must have a minimum of 6 working gears. Ah that makes more sense. It did occure to me after posting that with the increase in popularity of SS there might have been some 'updating' of the rules.
  15. Excellent idea! I did that with my Hawziee replica, well as much as I could afford! Which version did you get? The classics were the all blue ones, his last edition was the 'fade to white' one, which is very very rare. He used a custom made SRAM Grip Shift which was narrower then the usual. There was a picture in a edition of MBUK, many years ago, I'm sure someone scanned it onto the net. You'd need Middleburn RS7s. IRC Kujo DH rear tyre and Hutchinson Eldorado dual compound front. Hmm, Hope Big Uns might be hard to find. Oh and don't forget the Union Jack DCD!
  16. I would concider old skool trials bikes/ frames to include (but not limited to): Cannondale 'Martyn Ashton' Beast of the East, Giant 'Martin Hawyes' Team Trials, Orange 'Petr Kraus' Zero, Pace 'Chris Akrigg' RC250, Pashley 'Matt Tongue' 26Mhz, GT 'Hans Rey' Zaskar, and there will be more. Basically to me, it is a time when bike manufacturers made mountain bikes that were just on the edge of trials bike geometry. A time when seemingly super human riders would take 'normal' bikes and ride accross lunar like terrain. It was a time when Trials was about riding awesome natural terrain rather than TGS in a town centre. It was a time that used to stir my emotions for trials riding in a way that has never been matched since.
  17. Hmm, that would be a single speed? Comps require 6 speeds?
  18. Yes, I see now. You had the outlet at the highest point when bleeding then?
  19. Im very much feeling the white at the moment. My virtual shopping basket concists of white rims + hubs, white pedals, white chain, etc I'd say white frame with black seat, but it is your bike!
  20. Really fun video, liked it a lot. Lets see more!
  21. Yes, most would agree. If you are thinking of going to ISIS you would also need cranks to suit.
  22. No, I mean the bit where the fluid comes out when you bleed it.
  23. Well the absolute best are the strongest yet lightest cranks on an ISIS drive. Which probably cost a lot. For what reason are you changing your cranks? What is your budget? What drive type are you using? Are you going to change your bottom bracket at the same time? Do you prefer looks, the badge, or the performance aspect?
