  1. Or a slight alternative do this http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/topic/169483-turn-bodge-a-freehub-into-a-fixed-hub/ Have a good read through there. Would save you some coin int meantime. And give you chance to buy the parts you want, not just what is available at the time.
  2. bugger. £8 that could of been spent on pies and chips EDIT: also, to the OT, buy the BB7 and cut all the hydro maintenance/it's broke again bullsh. That means you can ride more!
  3. You don't happen to know what version of pad you were using do you? according to CRC there are 3 to choose. just an option for my next set of pads, thats all. on topic, 45quid for a lever! For example, avid ultimate or XTR can be bought for that second hand and not much more new! I use SD7s, shopped around and I bought as a pair for £20 sent off google. IMO, much more like it.
  4. Mate. I was happy, but I can't (for fear of being blamed for it ) say that others enjoyed it. Please take note that wonders can be done with a large supply of good pallets and ratchet straps. hint: nails, hammer and free-reign are good too. EDIT Oooo, cos i'm all street as f**k now (little injoke) some 3-4mm plywood sheet (strong when fixed but flexy to shape) and batons to make a mini/quarter/kickers etc. would be mint! No pressure though. This is supposed to be a trials day after all. And i would say to contact Rob L directly and mabye Tartys. Both could make useful contacts with such short notice. Have fun fella.
  5. A sly dig at the UCI mabye? or am I missing BT's joke?
  6. As above, Rob ^^ said he could help, buuut only if you can provide a definite date cos he feels the details are still are still a bit sketchy on his end of things. As for attendance, me and matt i are coming (at the moment anyways), one other has expressed an interest and I/we can prob get another involved and that's just in barrow, out of interest joe, what materials have you got at your disposal? the same set-up as 2011? In which case it could be an idea to lay it out similar to that, and it will no doubt change around as the day progresses. If you can remember, this is what me and rob did in 2011 anyway, we turned up early and (by accident not design) were the only riders till Cap and Matt turned up well over an hour later. plenty of time to debug stuff. EDIT: in basic, You did alright the first two years, why stress about it being boring now??
  7. That's really positive, i'd take that an be proud of it. I've just had a guy in my class at college say 'at least i've got a car d**khead, all you've got it a slow-arse push bike'. It's a (fairly tidy) Saxo VTR fake that is a Cat D. cos he's crashed it twice. I was gonna leave it but, since he continued to show off and the bikes are me babies; I replied with 'whatever mate, i've more money sat in parts than your car will EVER be worth'. 'For push bikes? Thats pretty dumb intit.' 'Ok then' Bitch got schooled.
  8. So it's happening again joe? is this the usual one day thing or that 3day 'up north radfest' shabang that got rained out last year? I guessing the one day but thought i'd ask. Wish I could help but I'm too far away. gonna link a mate to this now though. He might be able to help but he's pretty busy as well.
  9. good to know you got one back Adam. Top luck that. EDIT: And Ali, dunno if you've met Wigan but I swear that guy on the right is Adam's doppelganger. (Or am I missing an injoke here?)
  10. When I bought my zoot new, the first thing I changed was the stem and bars. I chose this in 110x35, 15mm stackers (original green zoot stem is 110x20deg, 10mm stacker) because this gave the height needed without chainging the reach too much. Bars were some phase 1.2 bars cos i had them already but these are T/tech standard rise in disguise and cut down to 680mm. Still run the same geo now on the fourplay V2, only now it's this trialtech stem, 25mm stackers and some Nukeproof warhead 760's cut down to 735mm
  11. it must be damn tempting...
  12. sounds like usual faff then... That is when it proper sucks, you know it's the guy but can't do owt. : headagainstbrickwall : Also I've just been researching some cranks for the MTB on singletrackworld and up pops your bike in the gumtree ad. Could not believe it. Check it (right hand side)
  13. Yep. they fit in try-all 108/Trialtech 108 no probs. A friend has this on his bike right now. Sounds just like an 8prong SL too, suggesting it may be a good bodge.
  14. You should see Gaz doing spins on it with his new carthy bar angle and K2 stem. Funny as foook.
  15. usually I put the hose in the presta side of the pump. and use the m8 port with a main line 'cos of the greater air volume. Also, slight safety tip. Fold the TPA rod into the lever blade and put the lever and bolt back in before you this method. This will then make it a two stage process, the piston will pop against the lever,(IME this is the 'dangerous' bit cos it takes the most pressure to do, 110 psi in one case), then you take the blade out and repeat. Aim the master into a corner with some foam padding or similar because that sh1t goes miles!! ha ha. Find the bits, lightly sand the piston (especially the bottom half, that's the bit that sticks) avoiding the O-ring like it's got plague, fit piston with a good smear of Vaseline and check for buttery movement with a screwdriver where the rod should go. Job should be mint
  16. Still, Good luck. He's gonna need it.
  17. 18/15 works out as 1.2 16/13 is 1.23. The difference from personal experience is noticeable but not by much. Suitable if 18/15 has become not heavy, or fast, enough anymore
  18. Oh, i wasn't gonna harass the guy, but others might of, I know. Just the fixie to find now?
  19. SO, you think it's one of Wigan's old photo's??? And a fake listing to match such. Possible but hopefully unlikely. Larl d**ksplash says he's selling to buy himself a ped. This seems plausible, 'Cos NO credible trial rider should sell up for a maccy's missile.
  20. hmm, just thought of that. was just about to edit... Still, I want the man to catch the thieving toe rag(s) in their tracks. B****rds. All of them.
  21. Yep, I would say so. Check the Google map and good luck Adam.
  22. just heard about this from gaz. That sucks fella. I hope you get them back soon. Check out the story of Joel Bennet and his leeson. It might you feel better but i don't know.
  23. "It was Hans who saw that riding down through the lava flow from an active volcano would make good TV." From that I read hot lava, but you sound right.
  24. this i did not realise. it makes sense now. there is also a photo i remember outta mbuk of him carving, and airing out of, a 10ft or higher curved wallride people would be so happy about doing now. Except he were on a rigid with maggies on evo mounts, with like a 130mm 2bolt bar clamp stem and all dressed in highlighter yellow Lycra skinsuit and open face XC helmet. The guy was/is insane. EDIT: A quick google threw up this http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/a-hans-rey-day-7209/ It says he rode though molten lava!
