  1. If i'm not to hungover from sat night i'll be there!
  2. That sounds about right to me I've ridden both (own a zenith, which might make me biased) but the hifi was good sat onthe bacwheel but felt all twitchy and cramped as if i was on a mod not my cuppa tea really!
  3. the profiles have bmx spacing not mtb don't they? theres no way you could fit an mtb hub into a mod/ bmx dropouts without machining the hub body down or stretching your dropouts apart at which point they'd probably fall off cos 25mm is a long way!
  4. I'm in my second year just applied for my third and im already in about 8 grands worth of debt its mad! I can't imagine how terrible it must seem for you starting on the new system
  5. Erm don't think so the revolver has mtb(135) spacing and BMX's are the same as mods are they with 116 or something like that!
  6. http://www.observedtrials.net/ is the main american trials forum. your likely to get a lot more US based help from there. I think the mainus websites are www.webcyclery.com , www.trialsin.com I can't think of anymore but if you go over to otn they have a topic about them in the beginners section of the forum p.s - can't actually see what bike the link you've used goes to!
  7. Girls are a pain in the arse for thinking they're always right! And they only get worse the older they get! I think a bit of stamping authority as had been said already is needed!
  8. About 6'3 and just less than 12 stone
  9. I had a mono and it was good until the insides went last week, just got a revolver and acs and the engagement feels stiffer and I could immediately tell the difference between the 21 ep of the mono and the 36 of the acs. Also if your gonna spend the 80 quid on a mono/xc you could just get a revolver and a tensile with 60 ep for a tiny bit less.
  10. Okie dokie fair doos that'll be my tomorrow taken up then! Thanks for the help!
  11. Right just a quick problem, I've just gone rear freewheel and fitted a new chain etc chainline is all good, but the chain is rubbing on one of the cable guides on my frame. Is there any way to easily remove the cable guide, other than grinding it off as I don't have access to a grinder? the frames a zona zenith if that is any help?!?
  12. The narrow rims (well 521's or whatever they are now) are stronger than the wider rims, but don't have as good tyre profile so can be prone to your tyre folding over when you run low psi I don't know whether they make balancing any easier, as I didn't notice any difference when i moved on to a ronnie from a 521, but I suppose ronnies arent super wide like some of the others
  13. Right if its your first year of uni and you have the choice halls is the way forward!! best place to meet people and more than likely the cheapest!! I'm in my second year now and already organised my house for next year, Generally unless its stated you have to sort out you own gas electricity and water bills etc! all adds to the cost and can get a bit pricey (when you inclusde rent)! I can't think of anything else at the moment but i'll add more if i can think of stuff
  14. Aaah right sorry, I just re-read your post and get what you mean
  15. Aaargh its so annoying, all this loverly weather and my new bits didn't arrive so I can't ride
  16. You can use white spirits or fairy liquid or both(white spirits first then fairy liquid) but id recommend rinsing with water afterwards!!
  17. From what I understand powder coating is alot tougher. Theres a whole topic on spraying your frame in the trials chat FAQ! (i'll find the link in a bit). If your going for a silver colour you dont really need to spray your frame, just strip off the original paint and then polish it with autosol(or something similar) then lacquer it I think but you'd be best of checking the FAQ!! Edit: http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....showtopic=46301 should help a bit!!
  18. I prefer stocks, I find mods to twitchy and a tad small!
  19. Can you not loosen the mount a little and pull that slave out a little bit? I doubt you'll have lazy pistons on a new bike
  20. Vids right good Patt, your getting proper beastly!! Not sure if the music was quite my cuppa tea but editing was good!! spots looked proper ace
  21. Try www.webcyclery.com or www.trialsin.com I think there the main trials places in the usa. Also the main US forum is www.observedtrials.net
  22. Only tarty's has the answer, I'm sorry that sounded so much funnier in my head, but I am sure thewy have pics which show how it works etc!! Edit pics can be found here http://82.110.105.16/tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?id=10008
  23. fair doos I must admit I have't tried one, but I will be soon as mine should arrive tomorrow!! Edit just remembered you could always get a second hand king theres a fair few in f/s section
  24. could always get a revolver and a freewheel!! be cheaper than the pro 2, altho it will limit your gear ratio There a fair few to choose from!! www.Tartybikes.co.uk seems to have the biggest selection of everything
