  1. Nah I havn't had a proper chinwag with him for weeks, he's working full time now I think so he's always busy.
  2. They were anodised, came out really well actually! the rear one looks a bit cloudy but the front looks great.
  3. I'm loving those mounts!
  4. +20 I think, doesn't seem that low though because the chainstays are fairly short. (Wish they weren't, my Rubber Queen wouldn't fit in the frame. )
  5. I love it, the cockpit feels shorter and more comfortable, the BB feels a bit low but not as much as I thought it would, but the head angle is amazing, I'm never having a bike without a 72HA again! Only if I can have a go on the Triton!
  6. Wanted one of these ever since I started, but I always thought they were too heavy and the BB was too low. In the end I got so bored with my Kot that I had to change it for something. (Had the kot built up for 11 months, longer than any other bike I've had). I've just spent the last month or so finding new bits and modifying stuff. The front brake has been rebuilt with a new seal kit and polished pistons. (About 2 weeks has been spent getting scammed, which was fun). So yeh, heres some pics! I will be clearing all the weeds out of my trials area, started today and got about a third done. Chain line is spot on, much more compact than the Kot. My Maggy came out nice and compact aswell. Heavily modified Atomz rim. It's actually 492g, which is lighter than any rim you can buy from Tarty, so fairly happy. Nice arse... Looks black in this one, dunno why. I love the new rotor, it looks like a mod wheel with a 160 from a distance, then you realise how big it really is haha. Skoze told me it would be huge, but I didn't get just how huge! Spec time: Frame: Simtra ST-1 Forks: Trialtech Sport Front Wheel: Viz Hub on an Atomz Rim (256 7mm holes in the sidewalls, holes in between spokes cut from 13mm to 25mm). Rear Wheel: TartyBikes Pro 2 Hub on an Atomz Rim (single walled) Front Tyre: Try-All. Rear Tyre: Maxxis Minion 2.35" Single Ply Front Tread Cranks: Middleburn RS7 Super Pro Trials Front Brake: 200mm 07 Hope Mono Trial Rear Brake: 08 Maggy, Echo 07 Blade, Edd Potts TPA, Monty Splitter, Echo Booster, Tensile Mounts, Phat backings with heatsink Yellow material. Handle Bar: TrialTech Stem: TMS Pedals: TrialTech Mags Headset: FSA Tensioner: Surley/4 Jeri. Not certain. Just found a couple of when I cut the holes bigger aswell, using a modified 25mm hole saw with a 13mm middle bit. (Cheers Dad ). Thanks to Lanky Rick for selling me the frame, I love it, and to Cookyboy for the forks, big improvement over the ones on my Kot. As it is now theres not a lot I'd change, just needs tinkering now! Front brake needs to bed in and the rear brake needs to get the pads worn to the spazzy camber/angle of the sidewalls, but other than that it's done! Comments please! Lots of them. EDIT: Just added new pics, see post #41.
  7. Same story for me haha. 11 GCSEs A-C. AS Levels, DEU.
  8. He's not joking, at GCSE you can actually get a pass grade simply by turning up now. (They say pass, but actually it's a G). F wasn't bad enough for some of the dregs in schools these days, say they made everything below C a pass, then made F and G pass grades too, and a U is if you skived it. EDIT: I think, this is coming from people I know, not teachers or anything.
  9. Whut? I thought you said you were on for MMM/DMM?
  10. Yeh I got mine too, just thought I best wind Mike up, he's been slaving like mad this year. EDIT: Just got my unconditional yesterday, I'm off to study Web Info Systems + Services in just over a month.
  11. Happy birthday dude! 22 today.

    Weight Loss

If I were you I'd strip the bike down, make a spreadsheet and weigh everything, then work how much you could possibly save by changing certain parts, but do it for the lowest price possible. Oh wait, I did.
  13. Thought I'd drop in and represent the BTEC massive! Just got my results, DDD, which is 360 UCAS points. My course was a piece of piss aswell, best thing I ever did was dropping out of sixth form. Best of luck to all you hard workers. (Mike you better pass this time... )
  14. Do the mounts have stops on them? If so, they're designed to tighten down to them. If I were you I'd put extra long bolts in, like screw one in and coun the available threads, then measure it all up and cut some down to fit, then tighten the mounts up tighter.

    Rim Tape

Because the drill bits are just as eay to get to in my garage, and it cuts a round hole out, instead of a shredded mess.
  16. No, it's the summer holidays over here.
  17. That was the idea, but then everyone kept nominating anyway and I forgot about this thread...
  18. I've never been a twat in the garage, and I'm from't north. But yeh, it was a shit technique, bound to have ruined the disc and it wasn't even mildly funny.
  19. Looks good for the price mate. Front rotor is on the wrong way round though, they're supposed to go the other way to help stop them cracking.

    Rim Tape

Yeh, the circles are called "holes", and the long metal things are "spokes". They come with rim tape to cover up the holes, so the inner tube doesn't burst out of them. It's to make the rims lighter.

    Rim Tape

for the valve, I find using a big drill bit works best to cut a round holes out of it. Has to be fairly new and sharp though, and don't actually drill through the rim, just use it to cut a hole in the rim tape.
  22. Just clicked the link mate, it's still working for me now! Try this, can you see it? http://lh4.ggpht.com/_5B9gzdmacQ4/SonS5AuG...20/DSCF0258.JPG

    Rim Tape

You need advice on using tape? Put a layer on with the sticky side facing up, then put another on with the sticky side facing down.

    Rim Tape

Sellotape or parcel tape is lightest and bestest.
  25. Lol, you think I'm still mad on weight? My bike weighs over 10kg these days. A few hundred grams would make a huge difference, trust me, it would ride shit with that much weight hanging off the front.
