  1. I've met him. Talks nothing like me! You just sounded like Simps though, although you probably don't at all.
  2. I couldn't care less really, I was just siding with Rob because I think he's right. And no TGS isn't "pure trials" if you ask me, it's about as far from trials as Danny's style of riding is, but the other way. Instead of adding extra stuff in from other sports, it's stripping a lot of it away. I'd still call it trials really though, what I said was, "If you're a purist, then no it's not trials at all". I understand that things have to move on and change, I think you've missed my point, I wasn't saying, "It's not trials", I was saying that from a motorbike trials background, it's not trials. If I hadn't already ridden push bike trials I wouldn't recognise danny's riding as trials, I'd say it was MTB street, which is what I actually used to think Phil Pheeny did. Anyway, hope I've made my point clear now.
  3. Cheers guys! Shit birthday so far though. Got up, opened all my cards and had a card from the post office saying I needed to go and collect a parcel, on the way there my bike broke down, (I think the alternator has finally had it), had to push it back but went to my grandparents on the way, they offered me dinner which was nice, then my grandpa decided we needed to have an argument about mending my bike there and then. (No thanks, I'll push it home, it's only another couple of miles, no really, I insist. No really. I can't get the alternator cover of without taking off the footpeg bar and mount, and the exaust system. No. Really. No.). So we've fallen out now and he's in a foul mood. Meh, he had a stroke that fiddled with his brain, obviously just an off day. He'll have forgotten by tommorrow. Good news, it's home now so I can get it in bits and work out whats wrong over the weekend. These things are sent to test us! More good news, I will now be going out for tea on the back of my Dad's bike instead of mine, so I can drink now. . (We have no car, just bikes since my Mum left).
  4. Na way, it's Stan's birthday too? It's mine and Ash Butler's aswell. Happy Birthday Stan!
  5. Cheers guys. Jardo's normal voice is actually funnier than his comedy one.

    Stem Snaps

Whut? You landed like a sack of rocks! Landed both wheels at once, with the bike 90 degrees to the direction you were travelling, sorry but that isn't landing smooth at all. Still, unlucky on the stem snapping! Good thing you didn't get hurt, could have turned nasty that.
  7. Everyone needs to download this, trials in a proper quality video! Riding was huge! Very impressive.
  8. Can we leave this now? We've all got different opinions, and this debate is never going to get finished. He rides a form of trials that's so heavily influenced by BMX and street MTB that it's not really trials any more. Trials means doing sections without putting your feet down, simple as that. It's been around since the 1920s ish in motorbike form. So if you're a purist then no, it's not trials at all. Anyway, back on topic.
  9. Ah right. (Whats a zap tap? ). If i'm going to back on anything higher than about a foot a tend to give it a little tap anyway, once you've got them sorted it's so much smoother and easier.
  10. Yes, a comp is otherwise known as a trial, and has been for over 100 years since motorbike trials started. Danny is a wierd breed, he does ride trials, but it's definately very heavily influenced by BMX and MTB street. Scott, calm the f**k down. Rob expressed an opinion and raised some very valid points.
  11. And I think you're a middle aged old twonk that don't get it. It's a joke. And since when has saying that another bloke is sexy made you gay? It's a statement of fact. Maher is sexy.
  12. In order to place the bike on top of the obstacle.... I thought you had been riding a while? I think I'm sensing sarcasm. Care to elaborate?
  13. I've got a huge reel in my garden, it's about 4 feet wide and the round bits are about 7 feet diameter. Had to take down part of the garden wall to get it in. EDIT: You can see it in my new avatar! My bikes on it.
  14. that's fairly light! Could probably loose a lot mroe though (Rear tyre to a Monty, cranks to Monty, change to FFW, new front wheel, headset, rim tape, change the BB as I think it's a Try-All). You could get that below 7.5kg I reckon.
  15. Is it a tiny bit or a lot? If it's a lot, it might be worth opening it up and removing one of the thinnest shims and trying it. (Or just checking that the lockring is tight).
  16. The same way you always tap, just ride into it front wheel first.
  17. Look you know how to use torrents, f**king use them if you want free music! Unless you're a complete spanner, you'll never get a virus via a torrent which has music in it... Just look at the file names, .MP3, not .EXE EDIT: Don't use iTunes, i think they only come in 192kbps, or they did when I last looked.
  18. Can you still get into Uni Mike? Or your first choice anyway?
  19. Haha, I doubt it mate, they're too flexy and weak! Although I really fancy trying a front vee, but I wanted to stick with a disc until trying it out, seeing as I would have to change my forks, front wheel and front brake.
  20. When I went to pick up my results after my GCSES, a guy I did engineering with came up to me and said, "How many did you get then?", "11, how about you", says I, "5, and they spell FUDGE!". This was before turning up to the exam would get you a G, he got Us in the rest of his exams.
  21. I've never tried a rear stock one, but I thought the rear mod ones were garbage. The front stock ones are amazing though. Cheers dude! There's very little that it new actually, most of it came from the Kot, and the only new things on this build are the grips, the front rotor and the seal kit in the front brake.
  22. No. You only have the stregnth to put in a certain amount of pressure into the lever. If this is enough to lock one brake, if it's split between two, surely you wouldn't be able to tell. I reckon it would bite more though.
  23. Next time you go Sheff I'll try and go. The bike weighs 10.2-10.3kg. Hardly light! Cheers Josh, yeh sounds good, hopefully see you at Matlock next time I make it.
  24. f**k. That. The weight distribution would be toss, it was the worst thing on my Kot when it had a disc, my rear hub is the heaviest one you can get and then it's got a disc on there too. Even with this tiny little tyre it's only about 5mm clear all round. My rubber queen wouldn't even let the hub bolts go in.
