  1. Pulp Fiction, Rambo 2, Rocky 3 and 4, the first Mad Max, The World's Fastest Indian, Final Destination 2. All favourites, couldn't choose one. EDIT: Forrest Gump, The Wrestler.
  2. Yeh it must be a year now at least? Must sort something out soon.
  3. Jesus Tom, I didn't realise you were that young! I thought you were only a year younger than me? Not 3/4! Hope you do alright anyway mate, best of luck.

    Stem Snaps

Why? he looks f**k all like meatloaf. If anything he looks like Tarja Turunen, but I can't find the pic I'm thinking of.
  5. No mines been perfect. Sounds like you need your head tube facing to me, I've had that problem before.
  6. Yeh I'm pretty chuffed with how it's turned out, it really suits me I feel. Just need to keep riding regularly! I havn't ridden at all for about 5 months, but since i built this I've ridden every day. Good start I hope...
  7. I reckon Try-Alls would be too extreme for a 24, I find flatter bars are better for spins and stuff, so I'd go for Trialtechs.
  8. Took a photo of my cuttings before binning them. Pic doesn't show that the mound was actually about 3 inches tall at the highest point. That's from cutting every other side knobble from the tyres, cutting the holes bigger in the front rim and single walling the rear rim. It's a TartyBikes engraved Pro2 Trials rear hub. Tom, will catch you on MSN.
  9. Sounds to me like the UK ones may not be the same compound as the prototype ones...
  10. Stefan Millington's old one? Loverly bike, wasn't my think to ride but it was very nice.
  11. No, the hole for the axke/hub bolt will flare out, and i have seen them snap. You should always run a hanger, even if it's cut down.

    Bike Theory

I found mine easier than the practices I did.
  13. The caliper seals dictate where the pads sit in relation to the disc, the lever port just lets more oil into the brake to allow for the pads wearing and the pistons slowly moving furhter in.
  14. Not noticed all the stacks in there? Looks like the bars are in a similar position to my bike with a Trialtech stem but no stacks. Is that the front brake Ali C built? Magura Louise caliper with a Shimano Deore lever? If so I nearly bought it, seriously nice levers, bar the plastic top caps.
  15. The lever will travel twice as far, because it's actually the piston seals that dictate how far the piston moves. The slot the seal site in is this sort of shape |_/ so when you pull the lever, the piston moves in and the seal flexes over onto the slanted edge, if the pads need adjusting closer to the rotor, the seal flexes over and the pistons then slide in the seal, then when it returns the seal flexes back but the pistons stays in the new position in the seal. The lever has a valve which opens as you release the lever and sucks more oil into the system. (I think). Basically the lever will travel twice as far towards the bar, so it would be pretty useless.
  16. Where does the ashton bit start? I watched a couple of minutes then got bored and skipped through, then missed it.
  17. KHE are f**king awful things, I'd get a KMC Z610. Lasted far longer than any other chain I've had so far. My old KHE needed oiling every ride, and even if you oiled it when it rained it still rusted up. I've never oiled my Z610 since I got it, just left the wax stuff they come with on, and it's lasted longer, has no stiff links and no rust. It's also about half the weight of the KHE...
  18. Shorter run up do it? And not freewheeling but getting your pedal strokes sorted first?
  19. Getting moved on is shit? You have to stop riding at the spot you're at, so how is it good?
  20. Try hosting the pics where everyone can see them.
  21. Is he really? I don't keep up with the motorbike side of things any more. Well done to him anyway, last time I was keeping up with TMX he was fighting for the British championship!
  22. I'd say shorter run up Matt, You only every relaly need to tap stuff that low when you're trying to keep it on the back or only have 1 pedal rotation of space to do it in. Very useful when you start riding more natural. I now only tap with a 1 pedal run up when I'm practising, once you get them sorted it's actually easier than using a big run up.
  23. Yeh same lever, and roughly the same piston area, but they just use smaller pistons spread over the pad. I believe this is to make the pad toe in and give you more modulation.

    Adamant 24"

The downtube is f**king hideous, but other than that I like it, actually quite fancy a 24 now. (It'd have to be the Echo one though).
  25. Got a new stem today and checked everything was set-up right, so grabbed a few new pics. New stem has made a massive difference, it's harder to lift the front wheel now as it's a fair bit lower, but it's a lot better for taps and sidehops. Still need to experiment with bar angles though.
