  1. No, brushed is the finish that comes on some rims when the sidewalls have had the paint cleaned off them, like the old Try-All rims. (Dunno if they still do it). The new Onza Pro series ones have it done too: Like so.
  2. You can get different splines. Echo have splined fixed hubs now that only fit Echo sprockets, but there are some fixed hubs that use a standard casette spline.

Lol, what a penis. I want to go shopping in Stockport, but apparantly Stockports rife with it at the moment! I know I could just go anyway, but I'd rather avoid it if possible.
  4. Splined are loads better IMO, screw on will be phased out before long if we're lucky, cranks should have splines and lockrings for the freewheels too if you ask me!

You're at work in that pic though... EDIT: Are you home now then? Come on MSN! I want to laugh.
  6. The say for cleaning drainpipes that you should use 250g of this stuff per 4 liters, maybe needs to be a bit stronger than that? I'll research online. How did you get inside the box section of the rim? Been thinking of single walling it anyway... will it be strong enough? I run a rubber queen with a maxxis freeride tube and never pinch it? This tube: http://tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?produc...;category_id=46
  7. Right I have a big tub of proper caustic soda in a crystal/powder form. I'm guessing I just mix it into a paste and paint it on, leave it then rinse it off? Where shall I rinse it? I don't want it being nasty... Just rinse it in the tub and empty down the drain maybe?
  8. No-one wears mitts in trials, they look way too gay.
  9. Go to comps, win comps, be nice, be presentable, make friends with top UK riders and shop owners. Oh and make very high quality videos on a regular basis.
  10. I filed mine down flat and filed the bolt down too because I didn't want to have it sticking out and looking ugly. Also at the time I couldn't find any recessed M5 bolts long enough.
  11. I ride stock, I'm nearly 6ft. I prefer stock because I can get more leverage and the bike fits me, mods are just too small. It's all down to personal preference, you need to go along to a group ride and have a go on a few bikes and decide for yourself.
  12. I dunno about anyone else, but I expected it to conform to the video comp rules in order for it to get accepted... Still really good though, most of those clips you can use. It's very useful because it shows this comp is going to be seriously good. I'm entering if I get my bike built in time!
  13. No don't, standard bolts are always wank. Get some stainless steel ones or some posh lightweight ones from Tarty.
  14. Pre 82 cars for £3k? They could have got some really good ones, and they all bought shite.
  15. Near Bacup. It's a bit of an arse to find if you havn't been before, theres a car park which is really big but it's a bit of a trek up to the quarry. Gay, my bike won't be ready in time.
  16. I'd file two flats on the heads of the bolts and use a spanner/pliers/mole grips. And throw those bolts away, cheese heads are shite, get some allen headed bolts. EDIT: Whats all this talk of "threads"? If it strips you helicoil it, if it magically threads itself again you have a party.
  17. Dude, you're already validated, and these topics don't work anyway.

    Question

I think Inspired forks might be coming out soon? Not sure but I think I heard prototypes were being tested...

    Question

You'll need to get some 24" forks, or get the mounts welded on lower, or make up some adapters to move the brake mounts down an inch. I'd just sell the Echos anyway, they'll snap soon as they are.
  20. Probably the same reason that any intelligent men wouldn't be interested in her, because she's boring, annoying and very very stupid.
  21. Get CS3 if you can, it's far better than CS2. (Apparantly CS4 isn't as good, but never tried it myself).
  22. These are the old ones which were anodised. (Orange ones were anyway).
  23. Havn't got any yet. The problem is I have a double wall rear rim, so I've got to get inside it to get all the anodising off, so I reckon soaking it in a tray might work better?
  24. Ah cool cheers. Bit of a silly question, but what will caustic soda melt though? Just wondering about finding something big enough to let the rims soak in it....

    Danny Foster?

Well it's pretty clear Ben, certain videos inspire you to go out and ride more, so it stands to reason that everyone will have seen one or two that make you want to sell your bike! For me it's always my own videos though, and seeing that I've hardly got any better in about 18 months.
