  1. Best bet is to ring up supercycles if you really want one, or try and pick up a second hand Hope XC or even a Pro 2. I've definately seen rear XCs go for around £40-50.
  2. My biggest tap so far has been about 40". I can't get the run-ups sorted out, I have to be really close to the rock/wall with 16:14. Anyway, I'll let you know how I got on tommorrow afternoon, hopefully the stuff from Tarty will arrive tommorrow.
  3. Mine was £130 and it was almost brand new, and that was a year ago. It was almost unmarked, all the threads were perfect and it came with a chain and postage.
  4. 16:13 = 1.23:1.00 16:14 = 1.14:1.00 18:15 = 1.20:1.00 18:16 = 1.12:1.00 I ordered a 13t sprocket today, if I don't like it, it was only £12 haha. To go to 18:15 would cost more, but I might do if I don't like 16:13 and can't get used to 16:14 if I go back. I like hard gearing though, on my mod I run 18:12 with 158mm cranks, most natural riders run 18:13 these days.
  5. Yep, like a 1988 Yamaha TY250R? The only modern bike that comes close is an ex-team 2006 TRW Montesa I rode the other evening.
  6. I think they did an 8 speed freehub with a disc mount, I think it came as standard on the Zoots? Not certain though.
  7. Yeh thats what I meant something around the £800-900 mark.
  8. With Echo Lite forks mine was 1005 and +45, so with Onza forks it should be 1025 and +55 by my reckoning. They are the increases that my Zona's geometry changed by when I swapped the forks to Lites. I'd change the forks first if I were you. If they are the same forks as T-Pros, then they weigh 1.4kg, or at least mine do, I can't shift them haha. A set of Echo Lites is about 820-840 with a cut steerer I think, so you'll be saving over half a kilo. I'd do this before the front wheel, I had an Onza T-pro one, so it should be the same as yours, and it wasn't all that heavy. I'd change the stem to something like a Try-All with 0-10mm of stacks under it, I had mine at 20 and it was a bit too low, but I solved the problem by getting Monty PR bars.
  9. http://tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?produc...;category_id=21 It's a 6 speed one, but you'll probably be running singlespeed anyway so it doesn't matter.
  10. I know a good few farmers, and they all drive landrover defender 90s or 110s. These shouldn't have the huge tax if you ask me, just the other 4x4s which never see mud.

    Gcse's Thursday!

It doesn't seem like 2 years since I got mine, but it is. Good luck guys!
  12. I think you should do a higher spec build at the top, around the Monty PR area. One of these new frames, the double disc one. Some decent sealed bearing disc hubs on Hog rims. Twin 180mm Magura Louise, like the ones on the spec 2 T-mags. Zona Zedd forks. T-master stem and the 28" alloy bars. I think it would sell rather well, the only parts a new buyer might have to change to suit them would be the bar and stem.
  13. Where's Simps gone? The real one? The not quite so spazzed out one?

    Brake Booster

I'd just grind the booster down until the pads don't foul on it if I were you.

    Toshiba Laptops

I'd wipe it and start again when it's new, so you get a nice fresh start.
  16. I drilled the sidewalls of mine, it hasn't bent really, I don't do many front wheel moves though.
  17. I've been thinking about it, but to be honest I havn't been able to hammer it properly yet so I don't know how it performs properly. I can tap now, but not gap. It rides brilliant on natural aswell! I rode some local rocks today and it's a beast. I worried it suits me so well that I won't be able to go back to the Echo. Shut up Hudson, gayer.
  18. With Echo Lite forks, 1045WB, +45BB. I can't remember the chain stays though. 18:12 is standard mod gearing.
  19. 10.6kg according to Adam's old thread. Yeh hope to see you soon mate! It's brilliant, works really well, it feels as powerful as the one on the Echo. Thy will be done. I'm thinking TrialTech bars, but I'll give these a proper chance first. yeh I havn't heard it slap once today, the tension on it is mad, it's hard to get the hub bolt in. I'm not certain, but I think it's to stiffen the stays as they flex quite a lot apparantly.
  20. I've only ridden it for about 3-4 hours in total today, but it feels amazing, the only downside is I tried to ride my mod and it feels wrong now. Has anyone ever run 16:13 on a stock? 16:14 just feels way too low, I'm getting used to it slowly though. Just tapped about 3 inches above bar height on it first time, feels nice. I can't do it to back wheel yet though, only to two wheels. EDIT: I meant under bar height, not above haha.
  21. I lied. Cheers, I really like them, they don't look like most anodised rims, they don't seem as bright and in your face as Deng rims.
  22. Frame: Kot MS2 Long Forks: Echo Urban, I think. Front Wheel: Viz Hub on and Atomz Rim Rear Wheel: Pro 2 Hub on an Atomz Rim Cranks: Middleburn RS7, not sure which ones. Front Brake: 07 Hope Mono Trial Rear Brake: 07 Hope Mono Trial Handle Bar: Czar Risers Stem: TMS Pedals: TrialTech Mags Grips: Rockman Foams, I think. Headset: FSA Tensioner: Surley Twin wheel, not sure though. I'm not certain on some of it, I'm not very up on stock parts. Shortened Pace Carbon XC forks, theres a link in my sig to pics of the Echo.
  23. Just got this from Tarty Adam, very nice it is too. It rides brilliantly, it felt really wierd at first but I'm getting used to it now, I've only ridden for about an hour. If you want to know any of the spec, just ask. More pics on page 3.

    Ly Mite

They did a later version in 06 that was brushed, the same as my first one.
