Don't put tar on, it WILL be shite. Yes you can use a front magura, I've never heard of a rim caving through the pressure from the brake pads, apart from on XC bikes with the rim is almost worn out.

I'd get a 118 if I were you. I'm not sure what legnth mine is but it's an Echo I think and I have those cranks. Try ringing Tarty, they'll be able to tell you what works best.

My mod is 8.6kg, so it's a pretty big difference. Doesn't ride like a kiddies bike though.

Weight haha, this thing must be at least 10.5kg. I think Adam once said it was 10.6, not sure though. It's pretty heavy, but not too heavy once you get riding.

Mended! Cheers Hudson, the drive side cone came off more easily when I got the axle out. The springs were sticking out of their little slots a tiny bit, so I pushed them all the way. I also cleaned around the big seal between the hub shell and the freehub body, it had got some grit on there so I cleaned it all away, apparantly sorted now!

When I do the bolts up tight, the freehub locks up on part of it's rotation and grinds if you turn it by hand. I've had the wheel in without the chain on and tested it. When the bolts are nipped up, it doesn't grind, then when you tighten them properly it starts grinding. I found this video for the standard Pro2, does the trials version strip in the same way? http://www.hopegb.com/page_mep_force_37.html Once it's apart I'll be able to see whats up and sort it out, I tried following that video but I can't get the drive side cone off, I havn't given it much welly though. Should I?

Heres an idea, buy lots of old cracked frames from people, then in 3 years time, weigh them in. I've had this Echo for 6 months now, which is the longest I've ever owned a trials frame.

I pushed one out, I think it might have developed another. These chains are pretty bad for them apparantly, but I'll push it out and re-oil the whole thing, hopefully it should cure it.

My Dad works in engineering, and the price of all metals is going up. Stainless steel has increased massively in price, so soon enough we'll be looking at frames that last year cost £300 soon cost £400-500 he reckons. Unfortunately we're running out, I'm not certain but I think metals are non renewable? When we've empied the ground of the ores then thats it.

I'm liking the looks of these bits, only some though, I wouldn't trust those cranks though. Looks like I'll have to buy a new Echo, just to keep up with the times.

I'm 18, it doesn't even feel that old haha.
