  1. Yeah man! That's factory fit, totally standard! It pops and flames constantly, if you're giving it a decent drive at night on up shifts you'll get a bright yellow flash behind you like you've gone through a speed gun. There are better video's than mine on Youtube, I might take a drive by tonight just for a laugh.
  2. Today I had a day off. So I cleaned the Abarth. You learn a lot about a car cleaning it I think, I learnt that the new side front wheel has been refurbished, and that the nearside front bumper has been resprayed. Although it took a bit of looking! I took some photo's, and I'm going to post them here. And a video of the hilarious exhaust. The sound is totally not befitting to a 1.4 hatchback haha.
  3. I just booked Donnington in the shopping trolley. This is will be funny.
  4. I got it at half past 3 on Monday, and drove it straight to the airport. Circling around to find a parking space that looked acceptable. I found a space that seemed suitable, between two quite new and clean cars. I've spent the past 24 hours worrying about it being dented or scratched, I was very pleased to see that both cars I'd parked between hadn't moved, and it wasn't damaged in the car park. I started it up, and instantly felt happy about being back with the thing. Drove it home the long way on all the back roads having filled up with V Power, and it's hilariously bad to drive. Overly firm, sat on top of it driving position, laughably large and overly thick steering wheel, ridiculous boost gauge plonked on the dash with a SHIFT UP light blinking at you, comedy ''sport'' button on the dash which does nothing but make the steering artificially heavy, pops and flames coming out of the hugely antisocial exhaust lighting up the rear view mirror and understeer so fit for the history books I'm sure something similar was recorded in the QE2's voyage reports. It is a hilariously happy place to be though, very characterful and full of flaws. I'm not sure why anybody would buy one, I couldn't tell you a single good feature about it other than the exhaust. But for some reason I did, and I don't regret it after 29 hours and 107 miles of ownership. I guess it really is quite a lot like me.

    hi + story

    _ _;_ _ fill in the blanks.
  6. It's one of my dads. He's got loads of stuff like that.
  7. I'm still a bit on the fence about the Abarth, I've always wanted one ever since I first started selling them back in 2010. And I'd always wanted a Competizione, well what I actually wanted was an Essessee with Koni FSD's, Monza exhaust and Interscope. In Record Grey. Today was not a day that helped with the decision, I went to Goodwood for Vee day in the MX-5. Roof down, shades on, loving it. I was supposed to take the truck, but it wouldn't start. It has been struggling to start for a while now, I worked out why later on in the day. The top of the fuel tank has rusted and got a hole in it, so the fuel tank is full of water... So I carried on in the MX-5. My phone died half way there so I was left with my little GoPro which to be honest, I'm not very good at taking photo's with... Before you look any further, I'm sorry the pictures are crap. I really haven't got a clue how to take photo's with my GoPro and have them central to the shot... It's a nice drive to Goodwood! Then on the way home I stopped off to see Prawn. Then I stopped off to see my dad and have another look at the truck. He was going out on his bike for the afternoon so I put some gaffa tape over his gimp as f**k mirrors so nobody saw my riding something so gay and then went down the pub on his Harley. Now I'm at home cuddling my cat and watching Jeremy Kyle.
  8. I love penis in and around my bum. Tuesday I have got a demo ride booked on a new Harley Sportster, just to top the gayness off. That's the only thing stopping me on the Abarth, that and it hasn't been through our workshop yet so it might be goosed.
  9. It's Goodwood Breakfast Club this morning. Anyone else going?
  10. Assuming this gets a clean bill of health in the workshop I'm about 90% on buying it at the moment. It's an Abarth 595 Competizione, with the Monza exhaust, Koni FSD shocks and springs, Sabelt buckets, upgraded brakes, Interscope Hi-Fi and upgraded wheels. It's cheaper than the company car tax on my MX-5 and a right hoot to drive.
  11. it's an ABS sensor, whilst it looks tight there the car is obviously fully jacked up so it is nowhere near that tight when on the ground.
  12. They really weren't that bad. I got got them from an American company, they are $90. And that included the shoes which are worth £50. So quite good for the work that's gone into them.
  13. I've been waiting a month for these to be airbrushed. TOTALLY worth it.
  14. The suspension on the back of a new MX5. How cool is that?
  15. f**k Aygo's, get a Suzuki Swift.
  16. I'm pretty good at driving cars.
  17. Ha, well said Mike. The bike is a 1957 frame, but the engine is earlier. I can't put a year on it yet but my dads sent the BSA OC a letter asking for dates. I bought it at Beaulieu the other week, not running, crank case was full of oil but it wasn't seized. Dad dropped the oil out of the crank and filled the tank up again, put a pair of plugs in it and cleaned the carb. A bit of easy start down the bores left over night, and it started second kick. Happy with that. I haven't ridden it yet, but my dad phoned me when it started. Dad says the brakes are non-existent, but they work pretty well for single leading drums, gearbox seems fine but he hasn't changed down gears at high RPM yet. But I need to find a clutch for it and a new set of cables. Should be a decent thing to throw in the shed and pull out at weekends. I'm quite into my old bikes, I've had a few in the past but only small things. Not many people know but my middle name is Vincent after my grandpa's series C Rapide, that my uncle now owns (his middle name is Vincent too). I'm on the hunt for a cheap Hornet or 600 Bandit just to get me out and about a bit more, I haven't had a bike of my own for quite a few years now, I have ridden my dads BSA A7, his Bonneville (T140V) and his old Suzuki GS550 at the weekends but I just want one of my own again now I've sold the Golf.
  18. In the most oddly sideways news. I have bought a BSA A10.
  19. Really un-important. It's just for cold start emission, can be coded out.
  20. £73 for my Ford Pop, fully comp.
  21. I took a clip of Foo Fighters opening, a clip of my favourite Royal Blood song and a picture when Dave asked for the lights to be turned down and for everyone to take a picture with their flash on to light up the stage. Because it was pretty. I see what Ross means about people being taking video's, there's quite a lot of them. that was a clip of the opening song though, I didn't really notice it later in the gig. Dave was hilarious with his broken leg, he was fully swearing and ranting on about it.
