  1. if it has gears like mine did, then the freehub is probably poo! With few engagement points, it isn't designed for major Trials use. Run the single speed kit til you get Ok on the bike then order a FIXEDHUB & a FREEWHEEL (I have a Echo TR FW and they are fine for my grade of riding).
  2. measured drop out height from floor and there is a 9mm difference. non drive side is higher and if i put the wheel in that side not all the way it works! I'll try and give it some brute force later to maybe succeed in bending it back. Wish me luck.
  3. I have measured the frame and there doesn't seem to be any significant difference aprox 957mm from rear axle to headtube both sides, 383mm drive side bb to rear axle and 385 the non drive side. I'm going to try an old alexrims x2100 wheel in a bit as my trials rear wheel is an echo tr with tr freewheel using a tr tensioner and this maybe acting too much as a spacer. May need to alter the tensioner some how.
  4. Ok will do. If it is, is it new frame time?
  5. it's not the wheel. I'm going to have my step dad look at it and see if the frame is fixable or not. Probably not. (
  6. I have a Saracen Flea 4 that has vertical drop outs and my tyre is NOW rubbing the non-drive side chain stay 97% of the time, more so when pedalling. Is it possible to twist the frame before first destroying the wheel? It's lasted over 2 years non serious riding, do i really have to give up on Saracen for Trials?
  7. My bad! I phoned Terry and he's had some entry forms back already so he's kindly sending me one so i can get it in, in time. Should of phoned him earlier, doh. Sorry moggz,
  8. With the next comp scheduled for the 9th may and this weekend being a bank holiday and no entry form up on the website, i'm a little concerned to whether it's all ok within the club.
  9. You've hit in the nail on the head i think can't do bottom brackets myself so that will be next on the list to change. Thank you everyone for your thoughts.
  10. I know pedal bearings are not quite gone but are not any where close to perfect. Bottom bracket is my thoughts but what about the chain fluctuation? Maybe thats causing the chain to not land properly within the teeth i don.t know what to try any more. I don.t know too much about bottom bracket or have any tools to remove it or replace it. Get a shop to look at it time?
  11. no it did it before thats why i bought the new bits to eliminate the chainring and chain from the problem.
  12. Replaced my 22t chain ring and bought a new chain but am still feeling a knock when i do revolutions on my cranks. Thought it might be the bottom bracket but when there is no chain it doesn't do it! When i lift the rear wheel off the floor and push the cranks round with my hand the chain seems to move up and down a couple of mm's making it look blurry, this isn't normal is it? What's causing it? Also the chain has come off in the past but not recently.
  13. Too funny.... Will check them out. Will fit everything myself as it's cheaper and i'll learn.
  14. does anyone know of a bike shop in these areas that may stock trials spec chains and a 4 bolt 22t chainring? Want to ride this afternoon but drive is not right. Also does anyone else ride using a TR chaintensioner and a freewheel at the rear?
  15. will take your number and let you know if i'm riding or not sunday. See you.
  16. I can! I turned up to the comp this morning ready for action and as soon as i took the bike out of the car my back was aching but attempted the first 3 sections on inter..... Bad mistake! I'm in so much pain that i couldn't even get up the 2nd obstacle on the 3rd section, just gave up and said some obscenities at my self. Feel really bad that i couldn't carry on as the sections were fantastic! I was like a pup being taken from it's mum when i left.
  17. i'd do reds but let's face it, it'd still be you 3 and Nathan fighting it out. But i'd get some points.
  18. i'm there. Bransgore is up there for me. Really enjoyed Tisted too.
  19. sun is out! Brakes are tuned. Tires are reasonably inflated. Just eaten mcdonalds. Ready or not here i come (in an hour).
  20. If anyone wants to join me and Bobo for a ride down Poole tomorrow, meet at station at 11.
  21. I've made this ride for 18th april sunday, what time is suited? as shoppers will be about till 4.
  22. Only ridden B'mouth once so after my bike has survived HBTC round 2, wondered if a week day evening or sunday afternoon ride can be sorted and i can be shown around a bit more. T.
  23. No i'm not! Lol. But i have good stamina for a smoker.
  24. I have a Saracen Flea 4 stock with standard 4 arm cranks and 22t chain ring with bash ring and a 18t Echo TR Freewheel on a fixed Echo TR Hub with a Echo TR sprung tensioner. I find this ideal for Trials use and i also use it 5 days a week to do 5 miles to work and 5 miles back, which is why i like the chain to keep still when coasting. If i had another bike soley for trials it WOULD have a FFW because of ground/chain clearance. Weight in chainring/sprocket. Weight in crankarms/BB..
