Truth man, if you don't now what a truss rod is you probably don't know what it does.
Its just one of those things, if you get it right its great but if you get it wrong you can only get it very very wrong.

Heavier strings give a bassier tone, lighter strings ring more and sound a little more tinny.
You shouldn't have to adjust your truss rod but if there's alot of buzzing then take it to get adjusted, if your not confident with how to do it dont risk it, a new neck will cost as much as some guitars.
This i spart way through becoming a cafe racer.

yep, i'm glad to see its being used properly, i had all orange and now its going all green, 2 individual colour schemes for a monty.
