Cheap skanky headsets use replaceable bearings, I think Im going to make up a set to suit hope/king/deng etc.... if anyone wants to measure up and deng and hope head set that would be handy!

I'll post up the dimensions of mine tomorrow. Although the outside diameters of mtb headsets are all roughly the same, the inside diameter where the press sits varies with manufacturer I think. However the press above wouldn't be suitable to use on a king headset or similar with un-removable bearings, it would only be used on a headset where the bearings can be removed so the pressure is applied through the cups and not the bearings. I've gotta make one like that so I can install my king headset

I work at my local college, next to my department is the engineering dept. Took about 30 minutes to turn and drill each of them on a centre lathe. It's drilled out for M12 stud, I think I will make up a couple of washers to slide over the top... Don't really like the idea of some big penny washers. Materials are free if you hadn't guessed

Sounds like he has a HSS bit, if the material is as hard or harder [see rockwell scale] then the drill bit accessories don't make a difference. I guess you would need a carbide tipped bit some mystic fluid to keep it cool and a low speed drill.

When you slow down or have to do an E stop theres lots and lots of pressure going through (enough to shear a cleat in half) the rear sprocket.... so if your lockring came undone and you had to stop in a hurry and the cog was loose it would be a lose-lose situation... Albeit high unlikely, not a situation I would like to encounter!

Chain whip + big f**k off extender and a heavy person. Took me and my dad 45 mins to remove the screw on cog from my fixed wheel. It was held in place with stupid locktite, I won't be doing that again.

Sorry buddy, but you aren't going to drive a set of powerful speakers without the use of a good amplifier (see £100+). And theres no point in buying a good amp and cheapo speakers or visa versa. A reasonable stereo set up would be about £200 ish. NAD 3020 amp, + Mission M70 speakers cost me about £170 I think via Ebay. Bit of twin works fine as speaker cable! Make sure you buy a decent stereo to phono lead though if you're playing from the computer. Mink is certainly correct, always go by RMS power output. Makes me laugh when people quote "Check out the 2000W sub in my car"
