Reet guys just recently got a FireEye Spur double wheel tensioner, ive got it fitted and runs smooth the trouble is while there is an okay amount of tension in the chain i just think it could be improved to lower the chain a bit so reducing the risk of hitting the chainstay. Im not too familliar with double wheel tensioners with their crazy amount of screws and springs to play about with (okay that may be an exaggeration ) im normally used to single wheel sprung versions which are simpler but ive never really got on with them.
Here's a pic of how its currently set up:
And here is how id like it to sit for better chain tension:
Please laugh if this is quite a noob thing to ask lol :$ but any help appreciated!!

Firstly, dont use tar, when it gets wet you may as well take the brake off completely. Secondly i beleve the TNN pads are for a medium grind? And are you specificly looking for pads with metal backings?

sunday is ment to be a reall nice day aswell so i hope its all clears by tea time tomorrow. roads are perfect aswell.
Anyone know anything about driving conditions from the south? Im not really one for tuning into travel news on the radio :$ and whereabouts exactly 'are roads perfect'?
-
Ive looked at the pics the place seems awesome, maybe persuade Kev to include it as a round for the comps next year eh?
-
Not gonna make it to 'the mount' but i think me and a couple of bmx bums are gonna head up to Unit 23 for a 'park sesh on Sunday, judging by what Dumfries is like for riding at the mo i certainly dont think Glasgow would be any better considering the south has got away with the worst of the snow and ice. Might be nice to see one or two 'streety' trials riders there if its woth going anywhere at all.

what bike and rim do u have? the rim could be to big for your frame......
sand the pads down to the correct size if you wanted to solve your prob.
Ashton effect, ive got a maggie on evo2 mounts think its about 85 or 90mm brake spacing and the rim is just the standard one it came with not sure on the width though, it aint big as its not a drilled rim

Reet guys maybe im being a bit silly here ive got a pair of brand new Onza lime pads and i'll need to get them on soon as my current ones are gonna die soon (just ground the rim again- bit harsher this time). So ive tried the TPA all the way out but when i put the wheel back it doesnt turn as the pads seem almost 'too big' and ive also tried taking the cylinders off completely and setting the brake from scratch again but still no clearance at all. I never had this problem with the V!Z pads, are the onza's 'thicker' than the v!z i.e with more material? Help most appreciated but it might be something simple im doing wrong haha :$

There was a thing on the tv the other day about George Square and it said that there was a ceilidh there and it was cancelled.
Heard about that yep i was looking forward to this ride, it would be the last one for me before christmas, heres hoping the place is rideable this weekend
-
the ride still going ahead? Ive heard the central belt got alot of snow the other day and theres more to come
-
Whats the weather like in Glasgow at the moment? Is it snowing?
I dunno, everywhere seems to be troubled with snow at the mo, but i dont believe it unless i see it for myself im hoping its a dry sunny one, dont mind if its a tad nippy
-
i hope no-one minds some bmx bums coming along :$

That is a sweet colour

Where's that?
Outside a wee town called Drumnadroichit (speling correct? :$ ) not far from Inverness

Took a wee trip to the granite jungle that is Dalbeattie at the weekend, rode a section of the 7Stanes red route for some natty then some street before it got dark. Perfect weather for riding, heres just a few snaps (not the best of pics though, only taken with my digital cam not my dad's fancy DSLR)

Yeh ive been practicing on a slope and that helps alot cheers, i love how smooth brakeless riding is theres no mucking about on the back wheel for ages which i didn't do anyway so it made sense for me to try brakeless.
I dont really think theres much need to rear wheel hop when riding brakeless anyway, just use like pedal ups to get onto ledges and land on both wheels and keep the front wheel a bit lower when dropping off to prevent looping out. Brakeless sidehops are fun though, when i tried brakeless a while back i found i could sidehop higher and i needed to start with both wheels on the ground and you can just concentrate on the pedal punch to get the hop rather than balancing first and using your back brake.

Righto guys, after a few nights searching for the best pics that my dad took at the comp then editing them, ive finally got them uploaded to Pinkbike, the whole album can be viewed on my profile here. But here's the best of the best, including some comedy bails. Have to say a big thanks to Kev and all the observers for making the comp possible and ensuring everyone had fun!
