  1. Yeah that'd be fine, it'll just be like running some standard clamps that way!

cool, but i dont know where im going to find a bolt the same as on the non-driveside, checked tarty, may ask at my LBS :)

I know this doesnt answer your question but if you're lucky enough to have vee mounts then use them :)

got the maggie put on the bike when i got it (Y)

  2. Im running a hs33 brake on my bike with the evo 2 adaptor kit, the bolt on the drive side with the QR has buggered and i cant get the QR tight enough so the mount moves slighlty after i pull on the brake for a lurch. Is it okay just to run a normal bolt on there like on the non-driveside? This should keep the mount secure in theory. Any help appreciated :)

  3. Im tghinking of getting a avid BB7 from tarty with an avid SD7 lever, is this a good choice?

    what do you recomend?

great combo! i have an SD7 lever and its got a really comfortable blade and good adjustment, hopefully soon i'll be getting a bb7 caliper to match. just remember to get a decent inner cable along with a linear slic outer, gives the brake a light, smooth feel, making it really easy to pull.

  4. thanks for all the help guys, i notice that on the bike the piston is slightly sticky but when i removed the cylinder all seemed fine, i put it back together and all seems to be okay for the moment, but i'll keep an eye on it (Y) im using an oil bleed, so the sticky piston being caused by using a water bleed is out of the question. If i were to use the wee tip as matt said, i would have to use magura oil yes? (royal blood or something isnt it?)

  5. Reet chaps, the past week or so ive noticed my maggie has been developing slightly sticky piston, (i.e. not returning as fast when i let go of the lever). It started on the drive-side of the brake and was dragging a bit so i readjusted the cylinder farther out to avoid this, and now the non-drive side piston is sticky. Is there a quick, short term way of solving the sticky piston? I am riding tommorow, and if im honest its a bit of a pain in the bumhole . The lever feel itself is fine just pressing it, locks solid, no spongey feel but when lurching for example it fells really mushy and im not getting a decent bite and when lurch i can feel the pad still dragging slighlty when i let go of the lever to pedal. I should point out that i hardly ever ride in the rain and its been a fairly dry summer, so would it just be drying up inside thats causing the sticky piston?

    Any help much appreciated :)

  6. Home was awesome :) probably cause it had alot of stuff from the dumfries area  nah but i just thought it was a great film because it showed different riding styles whereas you get alot of riding movies that are just dh or freeride or whatever. I cant wait to see Find, we'll probably have a 'mini premiere' at Shed in Mabie forest just like when Home was released.

  7. You have two options, flat platform pedals like this or caged pedals like this. I've never used caged pedals myself so i dont know whats good or whats not although they are more suitable for comp riding. For 24" you're probably doing more street riding so a good platform pedal is your best bet. It all really depends on how much you want to spend, good ones start at around £25. I run DMR V8s on my bike although they may not be ideal if you have big feet. A wider and lower profile pedal is great, something like the Inspireds or Echo pedals. Have a look around, other pedals i can suggest are Shimano DX's, NC-17s, Superstars or DMR V12s.

    Hope ive helped :)

  8. Just thought id post up a few more recent pics of my 24" steed. Few new parts on it, Inspired 'bars, Trialtech foam grips, Avid SD7 front brake lever, changed rear sprocket to 15t. Just gotta decide whether to save up for a decent hydraulic front brake or a new rear wheel build (or both lol....a wish  ). Comments welcome :). Dan.
