Nope your not being old fashioned.... i'm being old fashioned!! I just cannot get on with the side hopping, long bikes that are about and decided to get something that was a little more street trials orientated (which is a lot more my style).
Well yes that is old fashioned but thought the thing today was to have an old skool/new skool mix on geo if you get me like something tradtional but with wb more like 1030 or 1040 and a bit more lift on the bb
-
24" is also a good all round bike for everything, hoppy, more trials stuff and also the more flowy street stuff if you want to mix it up with some style. The Zoot is a good bike for getting into the 24" scene, good geometry for everything and is simple to maintain with its ffw and horizontal dropouts and simple v-brakes
-
1025 seems a bit short for a 26" frame, maybe its just me being old fashioned
-
You have my intrest... go on.
I would have bought it off you when i had the cash lol....instead i decided to spend it on improving my bike
i wouldnt have minded the broken disc mount, id be running maggy anyway. Now ive decided i'll stick with a streety bike for now
-
yes dann, looking good so far!
not toooo happy with that grind though
Yes a bit more practice needed me thinks
other side is a bit more consistant though and yes i do have two different pads in those pics haha
-
The things your going to do to that bike. My poor poor baby.
Ah yes i was going to say isnt that your old frame? I could have done you a deal on that but never mind
-
Will need to head back down for a ride sometime.
And i need to get myself up to the central belt area sometime early in the new year
-
Does it matter much about the direction of the grind (i.e. in relation to the direction the wheel will be spinning) or is it just pure technique?
-
Since when were echos,zoo, becauses & Zhi's bmx's?
I thought that was just a special shiny paint
-
Get some pics
anyone know the geo of these frames? looks quite long for a normal streety 24"
-
Worst topic ever man but raw!
I thought raw was a bmx trend....
-
specific 25" rear wheel
Why..just why?
obviously wasnt a great seller then, thats why ive never seen one before. Still being produced?
-
Great video it pretty much sums up modern day street trials riding.
-
Haha cheers, quick reply
im guessing it was never sold on these shores then?
-
Looking for something totally unrealated on Google images i stumbled across this 24" bike and its something ive never seen before, looks to have disc mounts on the rear and has some funky gusseting around the seat area and kinda remeniscent of some Monty or Onza frames. Anyone shed some light on what this may be? (perhaps a prototype Monty 24"?)
-
Aaaaaaagh!!! NO HELMET!!!
Keep up man, you never see bmx riders wearing a lid -.- its not street enough
-
I kept passing by this thread thinking why on earth does someone want a pic of a froznen Maggie? Im now glad i clicked on here in the end cause this has got to be the best thread ive ever seen on any forum, gave me the biggest laugh of the year....well nearly
. And yet someone mentioned in the Chit-Chat section that there is no more TF banter nowadays, they better stand corrected
-
That seat hurts my eyes, never mind my bum if I sat on it.
you use your arse for a brake
-
thats a nice list, i might be getting a atomlab on hope for the front off pinkbike, where did you get the carbon booster from i couldn't find any that would fit a 80mm spacing adaptor.
Rab Shropshire sold me one off here, apparently its quite a rare Magura one thats designed for the evo mounts.
-
Cool pictures the bike looks good, what are you getting for it.
New rear wheel- Atomlab Pimp with a Pro2 trials hub, ive got a carbon brake booster to put on, DMR Moto RT front tyre and a Trialtech stem although thats coming along later when funds allow.

As if we avent seen enough of the snow already (isnt there a thaw just now
) but anyway last week i managed to get some arty pics of my steed in the snow, not made any changes since last posting pics up but after Santa comes there will be some nice new sparkly bits
. Comments welcome.
Geo if anyones interested:
1035wb
385cs
+20 bb
72 degree ha

did they not come with gears? unless you've converted it to ss. 22-16 is good all round gear for everything.
-
Its basically the same just with a different arm and the bit for adjusting the chain line is hex shaped instead of being round
-
Okay cool, and whats affects the bit where the spring sits into (funny round shaped thing) that has a 2mm pinch bolt on it too does it affect the tension much if that is rotated? God i sound like such a noob :$
Marino 26Inch Street Frame
in Bike Pictures
Posted
I know that personal preference is all it boils down to particularly with custom frames but i just thought that was the trend nowadays with the likes of the Hex and even your old Marino frame but i stand corrected
course im getting more familliar with the more modern 24" frames so i cant really compare the geo of those to 26's. I am told having bigger wheels effectively raises the bb? And what other factors differ if you took two frames with similar geo but only one is 24" and one is 26"?
