Braided Cross Overs..what Do You Use And Where From?
hugh_b replied to hugh_b's topic in Trials Chat
it's not only that, i prefer the feel of the lever when it's oil. -
Hey guys, my cross over on my rear brake has begun towear out and i dont want it splitting when i'm riding so i'm going to buy a braided cross over/hose kit. I know tarty's can make them up but you need to run a water bleed because of the narrow fittings, However i dont want to do this as i want to keep the warranty on my brakes so i'll be running the normal mineral oil. Ive had a look around and noticed magura do a complete kit from chainreaction cycles. this could be handy as i would then have spares but has anyone used this or anything else?? Are the cross overs long enough and do they have problems with leaking etc?? cheers-Hugh

Hey guys, not sure how many of you went but it turned out to be a really good day, nice weather, great sections, just right i thought. Had a first lap of 16 in expert 26" and was looking for an improvement on the second lap. All went a bit wrong though, had 2 fives in sections i had cleaned before and improved in sections i did pants in on the first lap but not enough to have a better second lap. So the 2 fives sent me from 2nd to joint 4th . Ahwell was a good day and just really pleased with what i did. Anyone get any pics or full results?? cheers-hugh

anyone saying natural isnt harden than street must be blind, natural is technical and big at the same time, you dont have to worry so much about getting to that grippy point on a rock etc. yeah street it cool but it's getting to the point now where it's not really trials, all thes 24" bikes are basically big bmx bikes, real street riding on real trials bikes is fun but doesnt challenge or interest me anywhere near as much as natural. Try tapping 59ich out of mud/slippery surface onto an uneven slippery rock, now thats hard. Hey thats my opinion and it's what i enjoy most, aslong as everyone is enjoying their riding then thats cool. -Hugh

Thanks for the comment. yeah it's the simtra stem, well i had the onza pz31 before i think it was 100mm x 5 rise. Speaking to tarty's they said it would probably ride nicer with a taller stem, i just wanted something pretty plain. It feels really really good, very comfy, kinda where it should be if you know what i mean. The front comes up alot easier with it on which is a good thing and it should help my bunny hopping etc. Seems pretty good quality, i'd reccomend it.

why dont you come have a go at the brit round at hook woods, awesome venue and loads of riders attending???

wikid bud, 51 is just huge really. Donno what the average is probs about 46-47 but i guess every 1 is doin that quite comfortably except me . Ahwell just keep trying i guess. Well done anyway dude. No doubt youll do it bigger soon enough. -hugh

i take it that was sarcasm lol. Loads of peple have said stuff like that but the thing is...how much better does it look with the white try-all rims over the plain black ones. i photoshopped all the different colours and they all looked crap other than white.

51, cant really imagine getting that just yet. i was getting 7 blue pallets to back wheel in my garden with not alot of run up (1 pedal stroke). i measured this at about 46-47 inches. As i got more and more tired i couldnt do it lol. Deffo got get my technique dialled in to get them bigger.

i havent seen that one, i have been using this one as i found it amazing helpful. PS:FIGURED IT ALL OUT NOW.

sorry to bump this up guys but i needed to ask tra or someone something about this description. firstly i want to say this has helped me a great deal. I was practicing today and got much better having my knees quite bent going up to the obstacle. However when you say you have to jump before youve finished pedaling, do you mean you jump into the air then hit the front wheel or you begin the move by pulling the front up and begin to pull the bike whilst still pedaling slightly? cheers-Hugh

some 3 in 1 oil should do the trick.

--> QUOTE(joe b @ Apr 24 2007, 04:43 PM) ←Nice one, man. Huge moves and you look so much more comfortable on that bike than the Adamant. And, even more so on 26" rather than 20" . Where is that place? Looks pretty nice! Cheers, Joe. it's in Tonbridge Wells in Kent bud, yeah is a great place to ride, such a big area and even more down the road-Hugh

It may be the old secnairo where a bike shop owner doesnt know who's good and who's not so he's see's those lads as amazingly good, i'm not saying thats what has happened just saying it might have. Fair play to you though, got all those parts for free, i wouldnt mine all that blue if i didnt have to pay for it lol. -Hugh
