  1. yeah, i see it like. well put yourself in this situatution, you're sitting in your shanty hut and you've got a body bag next to you with your son in, how can you even think of putting another little guy through that, why not get your food and when you're getting enough food and you're getting on well (farming or whatever) then think about sex and creating another mouth to feed. if you can barely feed yourself common sense says you don't create a baby as theres nothing to feed it with!

but as i said, common sense doesn't always prevail!

Now imagine your sitting in your shanty hut, and some narrow minded arrogant nob who you have no relation to, lives a totally different life to you, in a different world with a view on life which you can not possibly comprehend comes along and tells you you cant have sex.

  2. My view is, that situation didn't just hapen over night. The weak die for a good reason. It's part of evolution.

Call me what you like i've heard it all before.

    survival of the fittest.

I see your point... but survival of the fittest, or survival of the richest (and in one particular case, stupidest) country nowadays?

Itd be a different matter if we were all thrown out of our houses and told to fend for ourselves..

  3. You sir are a f**king genious, and I agree with you 100% when this country is sorted then we sort out other countries. Then we will find it easier to help them because we've sorted ourselves out.

Do you not realise that its countries like ours which keep the third world in everlasting debt? Open your eyes... you should be happy its not you living there.

  4. Ello, just found a load of 'new' replies, sorry its taken so long.. Kinda confused though! (although to be fair ive been confused all day due to the silly drinking going on last night)

Yeah well, now ive got banner advertising going, i cant really put a link up.

I had'nt forgotten, its just not feesable now :P

I see a link on trials-shack? Which is cool, cheers :P

I see no banners on there though?

OK, so just put a new link, actually, replaced the shitty free forum page I had, that was always spammed with porn links, to the real thing, on the front page. :P

But, hey, side question, how do you get banners? Do you just contact the manufacturers and tell them how great are your site etc...? :">

I'd like to have my site sponsored, just to pay for the hosting.  :P

    Julien

Cheers for changing the link to TF, much appreciated :D

I dont think we approached anyone.. started as google adverts and just grew from there. Check it out, they used to pay well for us but its gone downhill recently to the point where theyre just there to use up any 'spare' banner views. I think that just might be for us though, were getting maybe 1 or 2 clicks for every 10,000 times we show a google advert (roughly) - but they're still worth it for alot of other sites - http://www.google.com/adsense

  5. I knew it was bad to smoke so I didn't like it, and I always told them to stop.

How did you know it was bad to smoke? Im guessing your parents either told you, or you were told in school - eitherway you werent born with that knowledge.

I think what the666ers is trying to say is that some people (chavs) do not have parents who tell them that its bad to smoke, and who would not attempt to stop them if they did. This can be applied to drinking/fighting/all the things which make chavs, chavs.

I had a decent upbringing, I like to think im socially acceptable, but im not so narrow minded to think that if had a worse upbringing Id be exactly the same.

  6. Stolen from another forum,

    Guide to Import Duty:

    Worked out using £1 = $1.89

If the item is Under £18 ($34) - Inc Delivery and/or marked as "Gift", There "Should" be no import Duty.

If the item is Under £36 ($68) - Inc Delivery and is being sent from one private individual to another, There "Should" be no import Duty.

If the item doesnt meet the above you will have to pay Import duty, and its worked out like this:

Duty can be upto 85% (in extreme cases)

Duty is based on the type of item being imported - its worked out using a rating system, that dosnt seem to listed on the net, but heres a crazy example:

A Leather handbag would have a duty of 8%

A PLASTIC handbag would have a duty of 14.7%

Ring these ba$tards to find out the duty on your item before you order:

    Customs National Advice Service: 0845 010 9000

(They'll ask a lot of questions, its not as easy as; "its a digital camera", oh no, the duty is effected by all-sorts of things - the functions, if it can work as a webcam, all-sorts, make sure you know about the item before you ring, or just lie )

Anyway, Duty is worked out like this:

(Price of item) + (Delivery) = Total Cost.

    (Total Cost) * (Duty%) = Total Duty

But it doesnt end there  Now us lucky brits have our good old 17.5% VAT to pay, which is:

(Total Cost) + (Total Duty) * 17.5% = Sub Total

Thats it, in a way. The Sub Total IS the total Import Duty, but the delivery company now adds some on, called "Customs Clearance Fees":

    Royal Mail Charge: £4

    Parcel Force Charge: £8

    etc, etc.

Then there could be an "administration fee" - this is for items held up in customs, late payment etc

A Quick example after all the above:

This is importing a very basic digital cam worth $100, and the duty is 7% (to make it easy)

    Duty:

    (Camera) $100 + (Del) $10 = (Total Cost) $110

    (Total Cost) $110 * (Duty)7% = $7.70

    Total Duty = $7.70

    Vat:

    (Total Cost) $110 + (Total Duty) * 17.5% = $20.60

    Sub Total = $20.60

    Total: $130.60 or £69.10

    £69.10 + (Import Charge)£4 = £73.10

All Done, your getting the $100 camera for $138.10

    or a £52.95 camera for £73.10

£20.15 Duty costs, import charge, and vat

  7. Heatsink was in the process of arranging advertising with us, when he decided to stop making them. Im all up for people using their skills to make home made products which undercut the commercial market, but if someone wants to import stuff and sell it on at a profit on here, they'll have to pay.

  8. Its lasted this long because........

Tom and Danny have lives, they aren't on here 24-7.

    Anyway yeah, don't advertsie here.

Correct. I've just been worken up by 2 random women hoovering outside my door - not very handy as I had a few too many 99p double vodka's and coke last night :D .

  9. Very good idea. Also good to make the portal not the default page. Dont know if your going to do that, but its nice this way

Video release's is also a decent idea, its exactly what trials-shack will be doing in the next few days when i get it working, but good none the less  :P

Nice to see tf growing, growing in more sense then members  (Y)

Also considered "News Readers" or something, to help take the load of mod's?

Videos release bit probably wont happen for a while, if ever. It would require having a totally seperate forum for vids which is a bit of hassle... and I dont like adding new sections :-

News readers would be a good idea.. not sure if its possible to do, ill look into it (Y)

sounds good ive always wondered if you could like implement the rides and locations jobbie in to a calendar.. so people post when a ride is and it comes up on the calendar altho thats pointless whenpeople cud just look hmmm.. anyway nice to see a update heh

Just about to say that, yeah.. its possible to let members add events to the calendar (will probably be moderated too, like here) like organised rides.. ill think about that a bit more :P

  11. Welcome to the new part of trials-forum. This is the first major update trials-forum has seen sinse.. well, ages ago.

But anyway, why is it here? A number of reasons. We were looking for something to 'tie' the forum together, and this does just that. This page (the 'portal') will be the starting block to see what's new on trials-forum, all in one place. Sometime soon we will be kicking the calendar into full action, so you will know at a glance what events are coming up in the next 2 weeks. The portal allows us to have pages such as 'contact', 'advertising', 'how to use TF', which is real handy. Before, if we needed to make a new announcement or something, it would probably just be a sticky for a couple of weeks and then removed. Now we have a 'place' to store all this handy information without the risk of it dropping off the forum index. (were getting organised! (Y))

We have also noticed over the past 6 months or so there have been no regularly updated places for places to post news, we are now open to the submission of news - this has been discussed with a few companies/friends of TF and it seems the obvious next step in the life of trials-forum.

What next? Soon we will have things like a random picture displayed from the gallery, upcoming events, latest new videos... and stuff like that (yeah yeah, you got me.. I cant think of anything else). Time will tell..

So anyway, here it is, 6 months in the planning and 1 day to implement, what do you think?

  12. Please keep an eye out for these guys, you never know!
