i use both but tend to bring everything together in illustrator. the layers pallette is much easier to organize etc. but try them both and see what you think. thats only for design stuff though. if im handling photographs then i use photoshop. if you want to use type then please please please do it in illustrator first because photoshop will ruin it if you wanna resize it later.

right i was at rugby training last night and was in a ruck and sudeenly felt (or thought i did) some kick/knee me in the calf. Just felt like a dead calf at the time so i struggled on with it thinkin it would go off. anyways i get hobble in after, get changed and it just gets worse and worse and i can barely walk on it, get home and have a look and the inside of my right calf is all swollen up, its really tight and hurts like hell. it feels like a have constant cramp in my calf. hurts to touch it, hurts when i walk, the only position it is comfortable in is when a relax my foot so my toes are pointing down. im off to see the physio tonight. but i cant see myself magically been able to play rugby tomorrow. anyone know if these are symptoms of tears in muscles?? thanks dan

lol yeah i know i could have just clicked cut out in photoshop etc etc etc. it is for a personal portfolio book type thing we are doing at uni, basically just showing off what we can do. i just liked the picture so i decided to have a go. i split things down into sections (face, left eye, right eye, hair, mouth, shirt etc etc) then just went for it with the pen tool. picked the colours out with the eye dropper tool and then used different opacity to get the right look. file size is 50 meg lol!! saved it as a pdf which you can zoom right in on, you can download it here i think either click or right click and save as or just click here dan im a graphic design student at uni this is what we do for fun it is NOT a photoshop filter it is fully vectorised using adobe illustrator the outline preview is to show all the paths which i have drawn (again, not a photoshop filter ) -
what you think? all paths done in illustrator Original pic heres the path outline view to show all the paths i have drawn! took overall bout 24 hours total work time lol what a loser i am cheers dan

And another thing from last year (first year at uni) just experiment with the pen tool, layers pallette, gradients/ gradient mesh. im pretty much self taught and you just have to mess about with everything and keep discovering things! cheers dan

hi i have a Casio EX-P700 and was just wondering if this would be sufficient to get into "serious" photography, as in changing settings and experimenting with arpeture, shutter speed etc etc. or should i get myself onto ebay. if so what should i be looking for? is there a website which reviews them? cheers dan -

right, im at uni and have stayed in halls this year, all well and good, but i've been travelling back to play rugby and to see my gf. anyway, me and my parents sat down and decided it would be much easier to just live at home next year. This has saved me nearly £3,000, so what my dad reccommended was to put the loan money i get into an ISA because i will be able to live off the money i get from working anyway. what is an ISA?? and how do they work? what are the best ones (i heard halifax do a good'en) and what would be the profits of putting about £1,200 every term in? any help would be F.A.B!! cheers dan
