vee with wide rim, you can tap one of the arms with your ankle/foot and it pushes pad into rim, when you have a buckle, the wheel pushes the pad away unlike a maggy cylinder where its fixed, you can make the brake feel more hard or soft at the lever, you can make it retract slow-ish or fast, duno really, i did'nt like rear vee on the back of my stock which i used blue rock vee pads a normal cable from lbs and monty lever did have the avid ultimate arms on it though which seemed good, i rekon i better cable and just a sd7 lever whould of made it soo much better, but i only used the rear vee for 3 months cause my magura broke
