  1. That my friend, is a beaut.
  2. Long wheelbase is easy for rear wheel balance, and for side hops. Short wheelbase is good for short, bunny hop like moves (so good for comps) I'm sure theres alot more to it, but that's what i know
  3. I would go for a Kenda small block on the front, and a Try-all stiky on the rear. Two great looking tyres that'll have loads of life, loads of grip, and are not on the expensive side either.
  4. Some very good information there mate, cheers I already knew about interval training being the best way to go, so doing trials to lose weight is sounding great! My diet is good now ..but it wasn't 2 weeks ago This is great buddy, but i have a workout plan at my gym and it's working well for me right now. But if in a few months i'm not making any progress then i think i'll give this one a go! Thanks
  5. Well i don't mind cross-trainers to be honest, i would just prefer to spend as little time as possible doing cardio in the gym, and focusing more on my core and upper body strength. IMO, trials riding focuses on every part of the body, and will (possibly very slowly) get you in decent shape.
  6. Is anyone around this saturday or sunday for a ride? Collecting my new ride on friday and i'm gonna' be itching to have a sesh.
  7. This is a great help mate, thank you I will be stopping for a few fags though admittedly, but if i'm out for 1/2 hours riding, and i spend like 2/3 of the time actually doing moves, then i'm sure it's gonna' be beneficial.
  8. Cheers for the replies guys, road biking doesn't actually sound like a bad idea.. would have to buy a decent bike first though. Yeah i see what you're saying about the heart rate, but that means it's kind'a like interval training, which is shit hot.
  9. This may be an odd question, but as i'm getting my new bike very soon I would like to know if trials riding would actually be a decent enough trade for running/cycling at the gym. Treadmills make my ankles and knees extremely painful after about half an hour, and the static bikes just don't really do it for me. So if i instead went trials biking for around 5/6 hours a week, would it be a good replacement for aerobic training inside the gym? Thanks
  10. Definately looks miles better now, really like it
  11. Sounds like a worthwhile trip to me, might head down there in Feb when the frost comes
  12. Thank you mate, guess that's my only option. Can you find it on google maps?
  13. I think that brakeless riding provides a great watch, and it's always interesting to see what new lines the brakeless guys come up with. I don't think, however, that it is something i would want to try myself. My bmx doesn't need them ..but i would surely die on my mod without them.
  14. I'm picking up my new bike in less than 2 weeks time now, after being out of the trials game for a little while. I was just wondering, as i'm gonna need some practise to get back into it, is there anywhere that has a good indoor trials section? Preferably within about 100 miles of Portsmouth. Cheers
  15. Everything you've written here I believe is true, and you've made some fair points. I don't disagree with you, and i wasn't ever trying to create an argument between us. My opinion still remains that the inspired bikes do 'look' like big BMX's. But i have never ridden one, and so it probably was unfair of me to make the generalisation that i did.
  16. Damnit, i must have put on more weight than i thought
  17. Ahhhh okay, sorry for the confusion mate.
  18. Haha, ah that's too bad mate. Let me know if you do get some free time though
  19. Haha, i'm getting called a c unt on a forum. This is fun? We should dance?
  20. you're* and please explain to me how it is not a big bmx.. and don't tell me the geometry or whatever as most bikes are a little different. And don't mention the fact that it can run a FFW and BMX's can't.
  21. I'll be down there on the 28th/29th if you're up for and the weathers alright?
  22. I would personally choose the Echo. I think it will be alot nicer to ride as the frame is way lower and all the parts are going to be lighter than the ones that come with the inspired. To me, the inspired bike range are all just big bmx's
  23. Cheers for the replies guys. I'll give tomturd a PM now and see what i can manage
